Prologue: Road to War

 

The year was 2018 when the world ended, sort of. The United States fell into complete darkness. Many people died of starvation and disease, this made the Great Depression look like a joke. Two years went by, then it really took a turn for the worse. Congress and the President went against the Constitution completely by transforming the U.S. into a communist country. We were controlled by soldiers, we had to do exactly as they said or we would be killed. They forced us to worship a fake religion in which the spiritual leader was the President. This outraged many Christians. The war began. The southern states forced the soldiers out and closed the borders. They officially seceded from the U.S. In 2022. They were then known as the Republic of Jesus Christ, The Republic for short. 

The U.S. was outraged and attacked the southern tip of Florida and reclaimed Miami and the Everglades. They also attacked New Orleans and Mobile, killing thousands of innocent people. The Battle of Atlanta was devastating. The entire population was killed. The downtown region was destroyed by numerous explosives. Atlanta was the Republic’s capitol city, so the U.S. thought they won. The Republic had something under their sleeves, nukes. Apparently the U.S. forgot that they stored all of the unused nuclear bombs in Alabama. The Republic launched four bombs in the dead of night. The cities targeted were: New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, and Washington D.C. and they were hit, badly. Not a single survivor was reported. However the Republic had another thing, energy fields that protected them from the radiation. The U.S. surrendered and gave the Republic anything they wanted. 

In 2023, Utah, Nevada, and Northern California seceded as the Brigham Nation. The U.S. allowed this. Their capitol was Salt Lake City. Back in the Republic, the capitol was moved to Montgomery, Alabama. Both new nations had their own resources that they used to build amazing economies. Brigham Nation had oil and tourism, while The Republic had hydroelectric dams, agriculture, oil, and other resources. In 2024 diamonds were found under Tuscaloosa, Alabama, creating international success.

The Republic and Brigham Nation allied with mainland Europe and The United Kingdom as well as India, Russia and Israel. The Vatican was their most important, they funded any emergency war supplies for them. With the help from these countries, the Republic and Brigham Nation became empires of their own. Not to mention the U.S. was terrified, or at least it seemed that way. They were up to something, because things were quiet, too quiet.
