~Chapter 2~
Zaria's POV
The shouts got louder each time we took a step into the house. When we got to the stairs, I held up a finger to Arielle, signalling for her to wait there. I crept past the stairs, getting closer to the loud noises. On the wall opposite me, I could see two shadows belonging to my mom and dad. Great, they're fighting again.
My eyes wandered back to the wall just in time to see my mom's figure pick something up and throw it. Seconds later, the deafening sound of glass shattering echoed throughout the house. The words that were being thrown back and forth were heart wrenching, even for me to hear.
Before I could hear anymore of their angry words, I paced back to Arielle. Her face held shock, their words most likely echoing in her head as well. I grabbed her hand and dragged her out of my house. She said nothing as we got into my car again and drove away. Elle knew that I needed a few minutes to calm down before saying anything to me.
We drove around in circles for what seemed like hours. However; we were only driving for about a half hour. Those thirty minutes being the most silence ever shared between the two of us. I finally cooled down enough to the point where I could speak rationally. Arielle figured that out as soon as i let out a final, elongated sigh. She reached down to turn on the radio, knowing it would put a smile on my face. Music always did that to me; smile, that is. The song playing on the radio was one of my jam songs. Instantaneously, we began jamming out to it together.
18 crazy, you pulled up in your daddy's car
you wanna, move in with me
guess we're off to a heavy start
By the end of the song, we were both singing and dancing in our seats. Sure, at stoplights people would stare. But did we care? Absolutely not! We decided to kill some time by going to the Mall of America. It was no more than twenty minutes away from where we lived. Which was in a suburb of St. Paul, Minnesota.
Pac Sun was the first store on our list of shopping. We ended up getting a few hats and shirts there before moving on towards Forever 21. Yes, we're really that basic. On our way over there, we were stopped by two guys that looked about 15. I let out an audible sigh, raising an eyebrow at them as we waited to hear what they needed to say.
"Hey girls," the one in a beanie said to us. Arielle gave them a small wave, being polite, whereas I just raised my eyebrow again.
"So, erm, I think my phone is broken. It doesn't have your number in it," the other one said to me with a cocky smirk. Elle looked at me, both of us rolling our eyes at his cheesy line.
"Why? Do you need a babysitter?" Elle retorted, returning the boys smirk. Their faces singed red as the sulked off after being shut down. I looked over at Elle and gave her a high five before we walked into Forever 21.
"Why is it that the guys we attract end up being like 12?" I asked while picking up a pair of stone washed high waisted shorts. Elle laughed before giving her input.
"It's 'cause we're just too cool for the guys our age, I guess."
I gave her a strange face before shaking my head playfully. "Yeah, okay Elle."

Our shopping continued for about an hour before we got hungry. Finding my car in the parking lot was a bit of a task, considering the amount of people at the mall. After clicking the keys a few times, we found my car and pulled out of the lot.
"Where do ya want to eat?" I asked Elle.
Arielle shrugged, "I don't know, Olive Garden?" she suggested.
I nodded in response driving towards the nearest location. The parking lot at this particular location was tricky to park in cosidering there was a limosine parked in front of the damn restaurant blocking 6 different spots.
"What the fuck? Who do these people think they are? Fucking royalty? They better be because they took my damn parking spot," I ranted with a humph. Arielle only laughed at my outburst whilst I pulled into an empty spot across the lot.

We were seated rather quickly, our waitress coming to take our order within 20 minutes of us being there. I ordered a Raspberry Iced Tea while Elle ordered an Arnie Palmer. After our waitress left, Elle searched around the restaurant.
"Hey Z, who do you think needed an effing limo to come to Olive Garden?"
I looked around the room as well, noticing a group of people that looked, and sounded, out of place. They looked incredibly familiar. Then, when a pair of incredible eyes met my own, I knew who that group was.
"No shit," I murmured, tapping Elle's arm from across the table. "I think I found our group."
I pointed them out subtley, telling Elle not to freak out. She wasn't going to, but I thought I'd warn her just in case. Her gaze moved to where I was pointing, her jaw dropping slightly at who it was.
"No shit," she said, repeating what I had said a mere seconds beforehand.
They were all busy eating their food, so none of them noticed our staring. All except one, whose piercing gaze felt sharper than a knife. I raised my eyes to meet his, before surrendering to his stare, gazing back down at the food which was just placed in front of me. I looked up to find Elle smirking at me.
"What?" I asked curiously, raising my eyebrows at her.
"You tell me," she said, nodding her head towards the man I had locked eyes with moments ago.
I hushed her and blushed slightly. "Shut up," I said playfully, returning to my food.
