We landed on soft grass, landing atop each other.

To be completely honest, the way down wasn’t that bad.

It felt suffocating for a second or so, but the view at the other side made it worth the burn I’m feeling on my butt right now.

“Gosh, you’re heavy!”

Cara complained as I helped her up.

We were dusting ourselves off, when I happened to look up.

I gasped at the picturesque landscape.

Cara started chuckling at my face as I stood there gaping.

“It’s beautiful, isn’t it?” she asked

“It’s out of this world.” I replied, walking closer to the edge.

We were on a cliff.

And the current I’ve been hearing was actually the waterfall underneath the boulder we stood on,
with the sun, hitting droplets of water and creating a rainbow right below our feet.

The impact of falling water to the rocks below, created a mist-like ambiance that resembled small puffs of clouds,
contrasting with the rich green hue of the forest beyond us.

It reminded me of Canada

It was ethereal.

“Careful!”

Cara pulled back at my shirt.

“Whoa-“

In the midst of my awestruck haze, I’d gotten too close to the edge.

My almost-fatal-death brought on a queasy feeling starting from my feet, up to my bladder.

“Are you alright?” she asked, I almost lost you there.”

“Yeah, just a little shaken up.”

Cara moved back to where we landed and sat down, taking her laptop out her bag.

Curious, I sat down beside her

“What are you doing?”

“I’m writing,” she replied, “Like I said, I’m here for work.”

Here?

Who is her employer?

Yogi Bear?

“I’m confused,” I asked, “You work, here?”

Cara laughed, wheezing at my question.

“No silly,” She managed to say, wiping a stray tear from her eye.

“I work from home. I’m a ghost writer for a magazine in the city.”

Oh.

That’s interesting.

“Of course, I go to the main office once every two weeks or so, to check in on projects - other than the tasks that they send via email.”

“Oh, wow. I’ve never met one before.”

I asked, semi-seriously, “Do you meet a lot of dead people, then?”

“Ha-ha, cheeky.”

Cara scoffed at my poor attempt at humour and went back to typing.

Bored, I took out my phone and started taking photos of the beautiful scenery.

To be honest,

This is the first time I’ve ventured out and seen something like this.
