Troye’s P.O.V.
The sound had been a bomb blast. When we were falling, Tyler had thrown himself over me to protect me and Tyler had been unconscious for a while. We had both suffered minor injuries, according to the doctor.
I didn't pass out so the police finished questioning me first. Now, I could see Tyler with them, looking very tired. I looked at the building in front that was practically falling apart and sat up in the bed which was, in fact, very uncomfortable (Princess Troye and the Pea). I just wanted to go home and sleep. Unfortunately, I was far away from home, but I slept anyways.
I was woken up and put on the phone with mum who was shouting at me, crying, saying that she was glad I was okay and also that she would never let me leave the house again once I came back. I tried to sound as if I was actually sorry, but the truth was that he couldn’t really care any less about what mum was saying; I was going to get the same lecture again once I got back to Australia and I would have to pretend to listen to the lecture then as well.
After I got off the phone, I just sat there for a while wondering about Ward and how Tyler knew him and stuff. The cops had told me that they had found Ward’s D.N.A. in the building and that meant he was dead. I didn't know the guy, but I couldn’t help but feel relieved after hearing that.
Just then, I saw Zoe and Joe running towards me. Zoe looked worried in her eyes and Joe had tears in his eyes. As soon as they reached me, they hugged me and bombarded me with questions. I answered whatever of them I could answer and then listened to Zoe’s speech about how she was going to cuff each of her hands to Tyler’s and mine and go with us everywhere . This caused a very worried Joe and me to suddenly burst out laughing and Zoe to thwack us both with her bag. When Joe and Zoe were done asking me questions, I asked them how they found out about me to which Joe said, “Well, thankfully your mum called us ( How To Embarrass Your Son 101). The rest of them wanted to come too but we told them to leave and that we would see them in London.”
“But, you guys, it’s not really possible to postpone flights just minutes before, so…” I said.
“Don’t worry about that now, okay?” Zoe said.
“Yeah, we got lucky and managed to exchange our tickets with some people whose flight was… well...its a long story,” Joe tried to explain.
“See,” Zoe said matter of factly, “a flight to London that was supposed to leave at 1:00 pm was postponed and some people were just sitting there. We managed to exchange our tickets and now our flight’ll leave at around midnight and those people get tobleave now. I guess the odds were in our favor.”
I smiled and saw that the cops were done with Tyler. I started to get up but Joe told me to not move. Joe earned a glare from me, maybe a little too intensely, since Joe then proceeded helped me get up and walk over to Tyler.
“So," Tyler said, to the three of us, “I guess I owe you an explanation.”
