Sophie's P.O.V:

It was currently around 3pm and Zach and I were sitting in the dining room alongside the four other volunteers and Helen.

My eyes kept drooping and I could see Zach giggling at me out of the corner of my eye.
"How you doing sleepy head?" He elbowed me in the side and my eyes shot wide open.

I looked around and realised that all eyes were looking skeptically at me and a few people were containing their giggles at my confused state. After all, I had just been elbowed out of a peaceful sleep.
As my eyes darted around the table they caught the gaze of a particular pair of ocean blue ones. These eyes were staring at me intensely as if they had been watching me for a lifetime. The gorgeous boy attached to these eyes, however, noticed my piercing gaze and gave me a quick wink, his lips turning up into a cheeky yet handsome smirk.

I hadn't had the chance to speak much with Leo since our arrival because I had spent much of my time with the bubbly girl whose name I soon learned was Abigail.
We had spent the majority of the morning and the first few hours of the afternoon preparing meals that we were going to distribute to school children in a couple of hours.
I had learnt a lot about Abigail and had learned to like her in the few short hours I had known her. She was originally from America but when she felt her life was not going where she desired she came to Indonesia as an escape. She said she didn't plan on staying but here, three years later, she couldn't even think of leaving.
I had a lot of respect for Abigail, not many people would have devoted their whole life to those who need them the most.

Even so, I couldn't help but be intrigued by the blonde haired and blue eyed boy who seemed to make my heart flutter just by looking at me.

"Right everyone, listen up" Helen announced as she pushed out her chair and stood at the head of the small table.
We all turned towards her and gave her a slight nod to signal that we were listening.
"We're going to leave for the village in an hour but first we need the vans loaded with all of the items we need to take. I'll leave that up to you boys?"

"Of course" The four boys nodded in unison and headed over to the corner where they lifted the items such as water and pre packed meals which we would be taking to the school.

Once they were out of the room and headed towards the van Helen looked towards me and Abigail.

"You girls are free to do what you want for the hour"

She smiled kindly at us and strolled out of the room in the direction of the boys.
I leaned back in my chair and sighed. Mildly frustrated at the fact I had just been denied the chance to watch blondie's muscles flex for an hour as he carried boxes back and forth. Damn hormones! I'm only here for three days, I can't get too obsessed because I'll be leaving soon, but there's no harm in looking right?

I hope not.

The hour passed quickly and I was currently squished in the back of a Land Rover on the way to a small village around fifteen minutes away.
I was perched on Zach lap and his arms were wrapped around my waist and rested in my lap to ensure that I didn't fall. Trust me. Fitting six people into a car made for 5 is never that easy.

We arrived at a little village which looked a bit worse for wears but the people seemed happy enough, and that's all that matters.

Helen opened the car door and I shimmied out, Zach following closely behind me muttering something about his now "dead legs".

"Quit moaning will you dipshit" I giggled, "I'm not that heavy"

"Hmm wouldn't be so sure of that"
I smacked Zach on the arm and we both looked at each other and burst out laughing before following the rest of our group into the little school.

It was small and dark and the building seemed as though it was only about standing up. The small classroom was filled with children, between the ages of 5 and 10, sitting at little wooden desks and staring intently at the board.
It became apparent that they must have been having an English lesson since the word 'hello', 'goodbye' and 'thank you' were written on the board in large letters.
A warmth spread through my heart at the sight and I instantly felt a large amount of respect for these young children because they are determined to make the most of their lives no matter what their circumstances may be.
The teacher noticed our presence and rung a small bell to signal that they were free to leave for lunch. Excited chattering erupted immediately and we followed them into the small lunch hall where we could give them their meals.

Time passed quickly and we were soon on our way back to the shelter to have a good nights rest. I really needed it after today.

A whole day of transporting food and meeting locals was truly tiring.
But something I would never, ever, forget.
