I woke up to find Nathan sleeping beside me, still holding my hand. I wanted to stay in the cozy moss, but I forced myself up and woke Nathan.
"Huh? I need to check in on the potion." He stumbled out of bed, still half asleep, and immediately tripped. I helped him up. Suddenly a large pink flower appeared next to him. A jet of cold water splashed into his face. I laughed, and received a splash myself. We both laughed.
"Thanks tree!" He said sarcastically. A small little sprout of warm water came out of the flower.
"Bye! I said. I heard a small voice reply.
"Wait up!" I felt something hit the back of my neck. I turned to find a small fairy dressed in a pink flower dress staring at me. She had green eyes and pale skin. She had rosy cheeks and bright red lips. Her blonde hair was tied up in a ponytail.
"Who are you and what clan are you in?" Nathan asked.
"My name is Poppy, and I don't have a clan. I left. War is boring!" She said in a sing-song voice.
"What do you want with us?" I asked.
"I want to join you in your quest to do... well, whatever!" She pretended like she was holding a sword and started slashing the air.
"It will be dangerous. Survival is not guaranteed." Nathan said in an effort to scare the fairy away.
"Great! Adventure!" She stopped with her sword and looked at us sternly.
"What are you doing?" She raised an eyebrow.
"We intend to bring peace to the twenty-seven clans. Stay right there, we'll be back." Nathan said. He pulled me off  out of earshot of the fairy.
"What do you think?" He asked.
"Let's let her come. She could be useful." I answered.
"Okay, you can come!" Nathan shouted. Poppy zipped up to us and tried to act cool.
"Of course I can!" She said.
"I will go check on the potion." Nathan said. He ran of and left me with Poppy.
"Is he your boyfriend?" Poppy asked. I realized she thought Nathan was an actual human, and I wanted to keep it that way.
"No, he's my friend. We were both captured by bandits. He helped me escape." I replied.
"What are you?" I remembered Nathan saying something about a magical signature. She must sense that and think I am some kind of ultra powerful elf or something.
"I would prefer not to say." I said. I had no idea what Nathan was going to do to me. A few minutes later, Nathan cam back with two small bottles of strange liquid.
"Here. I... am not going to have a good day." He said. I wondered what was in the second bottle as he handed one to me.
"Okay." I ran behind a bush, out of sight of them. I drank the liquid. I seemed to grow taller. My skin adopted a green hue. Flowers appeared naturally in my hair. I looked in a small puddle beside me and found my eyes to be an emerald green. I had small green dots underneath my eyes. I was a dryad. My clothes seemed to still fit correctly, so I exited the bush. The fairy looked smug.
"I knew you were a dryad!" She said. I acted as if I were used to this.
"I'm just glad to be back in my true form!" I answered, hoping Nathan would take the hint. He wandered out of a thick patch of thicket. He was wobbling like crazy. I wondered why, until I saw his legs. He was a satyr. I couldn't help but snicker. He already struggled on human legs, but small goat hoofs would be agony for him.
"I thought it might be better if we were to pose as a couple, to make us  more inconspicuous." He seemed embarrassed. Then again, so was I. Little pink flowers were appearing beside my feet.
"Well, how long did the apothecary say this would last?" I asked. He gave me a confused look, then he gave me a knowing look.
"Until we can cook up an antidote." He said. He was about to fall face first in the dirt, but a patch of moss rose up to catch him.
"Uh, did I do that?" I asked. The fairy gave me a strange look.
"I have been a human for so long, I forgot how to use my magic!" I gave a little giggle as if to say how silly I was. The fairy looked sympathetic. She didn't suspect a thing. Nathan stumbled out into camp. Victoria, who seemed to always be there, welcomed us.
"Whoa. And I thought you were bad as a human!" Victoria said.
"Yeah, I have always been kinda clumsy!" Nathan said, hoping she would take the hint. She looked confused and walked away. We found Dawn, who lazily trotted out to me. She had obviously been well taken cave of during our stay. I hopped on and helped Nathan up. The fairy flew onto my shoulder and held on to my hair. Dawn started off at a gallop into the brightly lit woods.
