We returned back to the village and I reunited with Fajiro." So, how was the hunt?" He asked as he walked beside me.
"Good except for the chattering girls," I rolled my eyes thinking about it. " They kept on scaring away the prey!"
Fajiro laughed. I smiled back. Something that Victoria said made me think it over again: She described Fajiro as my twin. Were we actually twins? Were we closer than I realized?
The girls were approaching from the forest, their chatter growing in volume as they descended down to the silent clearing. Every one gathered around a small fire started by Fajiro and talked about the hunt.
"How was yours? The hunt, I mean." I asked, dreading the answer.
"Violent." Fajiro said, and made a face as if it were something he wanted to forget.
"So, where are we headed anyways?" I asked.
"There is a meeting place for the clans to the south." Fajiro said, "We will go there and summon the clans for a peace agreement."
I already knew this wouldn't work. There would be blood spilled.
I closed my eyes and then opened them again to see Fajiro walk away to see Victoria.
They looked like they were hiding something from me because Fajiro kept on glancing at me.
Just then a shrill cry sounded from the sky and I looked up to see a figure flying in the air. I couldn't tell what it was since it was too far up.
"Ravager!" Fajiro yelled." He's back!"
As if obeying him, the dragon Ravager gave a battle cry and swooped down towards the chattering girls. The dragon went for the closest girl with auburn pigtails and was giggling with the other girls, oblivious to the dragon.
Fajiro reaches out for her and she strained against him the split second before she saw what was aiming for her.
The other girls screamed and raced for safety but the dragon was faster. Once it was close to the ground, it flapped it's wings hard, sending a gust of wind. The girls were sent flying through the air, smashing themselves up against trees or the logs on the ground.
I heard a lot of the werewolves growl, shape shifting into their true selves. Their eyes glowed in the coming darkness, their body covering with fur.
They grew sharp teeth and claws which extended from their fingertips.
As Ravager was distracted by the angry werewolves, I went over to the girls who were groaning from several injuries. I was panicked. I couldn't think straight. Werewolves were allies of the dragons, why would one attack? Rouges! That was the answer. The girl I was treating groaned. Then I realized what was happening. A stream of light was coming from my hand, healing her broken body. I moved on to the next. Instantly healed. I systematically healed all of the werewolves. As soon as the light in my hand was extinguished, I collapsed. I was so tired. I tried to get up, to move, to no avail. The rouge stood directly above me. I could barely feel it when he picked me up and flew off. I could barely hear Fajiro crying my name, screaming. I could barely feel the dragon's claws on my skin.
