(In The Past)

**Helga's POV**

After Helga had left school, she bolted for the park where she was going to meet Phoebe to study. When she arrived at the park, she saw Phoebe sitting on one of the old benches by the lake pondering to herself.

It was chilly and she was wearing her blue button-up sweater. Helga walked over to her swiftly and took a seat next to her best friend. Pheobe whipped her head to the left and her smile grew big when she saw who it was sitting next to her. "Helga! I'm really glad your here!" Pheobe said,

giving Helga a nice big warm hug. "What did you think, Pheebs? That I was gonna ditch you or something?" Helga questioned, she set her backpack of books down to the ground next to the bench.

"No, Helga, it's just kinda late and I was worried about you is all," Pheobe answered. Helga crossed her arms in a relaxed kind of way and sunk into the beach a little.

"You don't have to be worried about me, Pheebs, I can take care of myself you know? and besides, blame Arnold." Helga explained. Pheobe smiled and giggled a little at that.

She knew Helga was a strong girl and a fighter at heart, But she always knows that sometimes Helga's emotions can take control of her at times and she worries her friend would get in real trouble with that someday.

"I know that Helga," Pheebs said while adjusting her glasses. Helga looked over to Pheebs and smiled back at her before shaking her head and changing the subject altogether. "Well, we should get to studying, there are lots to be done," Helga stated.

Pheobe bent down to the side of the bench to reach her study guide in her backpack and pulled it out and placed it onto her lap. "Okay, Helga" Pheebs replied and with that,

they went on to study their math test at the park for a few hours, taking side notes and also writing the paper for tomorrow's contest in Mr. Simmon's class while at it. After they had both finished studying and such, they parted ways.

Helga went home, back to the O' so grey family she grew to hate, well, I mean she never really was attached to them in the first place. Miriam never changed over the year, she is still hooked on her "Smoothies" which is a way for her to sugar coat her alcohol addiction.

Her drinking problems have become worse over the year and when she's not sleeping around the house like a basket case, she's drinking her life away in kitchen and Bob, on the other hand,

is still entitled to his "Beeper Bussiness" and is also still, never paying a dime about Helga but instead calling her Olga for Olga was the "favorite" child of the household.

Olga was still in Alaska studying to become something her parents would be super proud of. Which didn't matter in that fact because whatever she picks, I'm sure will impress mommy and daddy anyways, I mean she never has to try to be perfect!

'Some things never change,' she thought to herself deeply as she walked her way home in the chilly cold winter weather.  She was rapping her arms around her waist trying to warm herself.

When she had finally made it to the front door, she walked inside, placing her backpack on the stairs "Miriam, I'm home!!" She yelled, there was no response,

she just shrugged it off and assumed her mom must be knock out from drinking too many "Smoothies" while she was in school earlier. Once up the steps, she headed to her room and crashed onto her bed. She pulled out her pink book and wrote some poems and took a warm shower before heading to bed.

The next Morning Helga awoke to her alarm going off. "Criminy!! Shut your pie hoe would ya!!!" Helga whined as she forcefully slammed her hand on the alarm clock causing it to fall to the floor and continue ringing.

'Oh, Helga O'l girl this is just another day starting off on the rough end of a goat!' She thought to herself.  She whipped the pink blanket off her and picked up the alarm clock before opening the window and tossing it out. "That'll show ya!" She said while dusting her hands. Meanwhile..

She got all dressed for school and headed down the steps to the kitchen to pick up her school lunch for later. She looked through the cabinets and the fridge to find that there was no lunch box to be found.

"Miriam! did you pack my lunch!?" Helga yelled Miriam walked into the kitchen from the living room holding one of her "Smoothies" "Yess honey, it's over..." She looked around for the lunch box. "Now where did I put that silly lunch box?" She said while searching the kitchen hopelessly, She opened the stove door.

"Oh, there it is!" Her mom said proudly, picking up the lunch box and giving it to Helga "In the oven, Miriam?" Helga replied crossing her arms while raising an eyebrow at her. Helga opened the box to find that there was only one piece of bread and a banana inside.

'You got to be kidding me.' She thought to herself while slapping her hand to her face. She knew her mom was on the looney boat at times but not the captain of it. Helga didn't ask but instead just figured she would buy her some lunch at school later.

She walked to the stairs to grab her backpack before heading out the door for school.
