Long before it was time to collect her supplies from Diagon Alley, Eadan found her self packing and unpacking, repacking and unpacking, and nearly crying in frustration over not knowing what to bring. She didn't know weather to pack her fuzzy green pajama pants or her favorite purple tank top. What if she couldn't fit them into her trunk? What if by the end of the year they didn't fit because she ate too much at dinner? From what she heard from Dillon, Hogwarts serves amazing food.
But she had other things to think about besides what she was going to back. It was going to Hogwarts all in itself that worried her. What house was she going to be in? Who were her roommates going to be? Which class would she excel in? All of those questions set her on edge.
That was one early Wednesday afternoon towards the end of the summer when Eadan was found in her bedroom, her trunk spread open with its contents spilled around it and hey leg jumping wildly up and down. Dillon leaned against the doorway to her baby blue painted room looking at his sister.
"Hey, Eadie," he gave her a small smile. "Everything okay?"
She glanced up at him, brushing her messy hair behind her ear. "Oh, I'm alright. Are you okay?"
Dillon laughed and stepped into the room. He saw the mess of clothes and provisions on the floor. "Having a hard time packing?" He sat next to Eadan and glanced at her.
She shrugged in responce and rubbed her eyes. "I guess I just don't know what to bring. But it probably doesn't really matter. If I forget anything, I can just have Dad send it, right?"
Nodding in responce, Dillon said, "Shouldn't get so worried up this, Eadie. It's going to be just like you're first day of primary school. Except you'll only come home during holidays. But still. You'd be surprised how similar it is."
Eadan tilted hey head up, meeting her brothers gaze. "But what about the houses? Everyone's split up aren't they? What if I'm not it the same house as you?"
"So what if you're not in Gryffindor," Dillon rolled his eyes. "I know Dad was in their too but Mom... well I don't really know about her but it doesn't matter what house your in, okay? It doesn't mean as much as you think."
Eadan looked away, not fully believing him. "Okay..."
There was a soft knock on the door frame, what Edward stood watching his children. "Everything good in here?"
Dillon nodded. "All good, Dad. Eadan is just scared to go to Hogwarts, that's all."
Smacking her hand against his arm, Eadan scoffed in response. "I am not scared. Merlin, Dillon, get your facts straight."
Edward shook his head, chuckling. "Are you two through with arguing? Because we are going to Diagon Alley today and I don't want you fighting the length of the street."
