"Alec stop throwing shit around, this isn't your fault." I groaned, locking eye contact with him.

"One of us should have stayed with them." He muttered, running his fingers through his hair.

"Maybe, but we can't hang the past. The best thing we can do is find them." I offered, calmly walking towards him.

"Jace is going to kill me." He whined, a deep frown on his face.

"No, he won't." I insisted, turning my head as Jace and Izzy ran through the door.

"Where is she? Where is Clary?" Jace grunted, advancing towards Alec.

"She's gone." Alec admitted, shaking his head.

"What do you mean, gone?" Izzy asked, walking towards us.

"She and Simon got arrested when we were securing the fire escape." I sighed, pursing my lips with distaste.

"The mundane was here?" Jace spat, his jaw locking.

"His name is Simon, Jackass." I hissed, shaking my head at him.

"He's gone too?" Izzy asked worriedly.

"It was an unmarked car. I don't know where they took her." Alec explained

"What did you do, Alec?' Jace interrogated, causing a harsh silence to wave over all of us.

One by one, they started leaving the room, leaving only Alec and I.

"this isn't our fault, but we're gonna make this alright." I told him, before following out the door after Isabelle. I wasn't the weak link and I'm willing to prove it.

"Damn it." Jace said with a heavy breath.

After the heated moment in the loft, we all stood in the alleyway trying to track Clary and Simon.

"She's not showing up." He said defeated, turning to look at us all.

"We need to parabatai track." Jace insisted grabbing Alec.

I stood awkwardly to the side as Isabelle was on the phone, I watched the boys with a frown. You could see how Jace's disappointment affected Alec, and in all honesty, affected all of us. We're a family, and we hate letting each other down.

"Jace it won't work, everything was torched for a reason." I offered, a frown growing on my face from the glare shot my way.

"Just like I thought." Izzy interrupted walking towards us, signalling out the tension, "She wasn't arrested."

"It was your job to look after her." Jace exploded, advancing on Alec, only to be stopped as I jumped between them.

"It's my fault, back off." I tried to control erratic breathing, but it was useless.
