The sun was disappearing behind the hills and the sky was illuminated with various hues of oranges, pinks and purples. Poppies created a red sheet over the fields for as far as the eye could see and stars were starting to twinkle faintly amongst the wisps of cloud. The ground was slightly uneven from where the soil had been turned but the blanket created a cushion. Time seemed to stand still as Alex stared up into the sky. He sighed as he pushed the stray strands of hair that were covering his eyes.
The distant hum of engines by the motorway set a little atmosphere and Alex found peace in the tranquillity. It was around 9.30 at night and Alex was wracking his brain through to try and find some lyrics to come up with. His notepad still lay empty and frustrated. The straight lines seemed to scribble themselves into a mess, representing Alex's brain. There was only one thing in his mind lately, and it wouldn't leave. It was sat right beside him holding a cigarette between it's delicate fingers, laying down staring at the sky. Jasmine.
She peered at him from the corner of her eyes, he held his head in his hands and his fingers disappeared among the hair.
Jasmine budged closer to him and rested her head gently on his shoulder. Knowing something was the matter. She held the cigarette up to him and he accepted. He took a long drag and blew the smoke out.
"Having trouble writing?" She questioned, staring down at his notepad which was splattered in words and scribblings that could not be deciphered. One word stuck out in bold, her. She looked at it, stared.
"Yeah, I am. Would you mind helping me darlin'?" He asked before taking another drag. He passed it back and she soon finished the cigarette.
"Course, I'd love to. Did you know I got an A* in English Lit and Language?" She poked his face and pulled his face to look at her.
"No babe, I didn't know." Alex said, still not looking at her.
"Alex, why're you being all off with me?" Worry began to flood her mind as she questioned her worth. This had always been a common flaw of Jasmine's, she doubted herself too much. She worried that she would never live up to anyone's expectations. As she's dating a rock star, this feeling was more evident to her than ever. Her mind began racing and soon enough, tears were collecting in her eyes.
Alex slowly glanced up to her and saw her tears brimming and regret was immediately plastered on his face.
"Oh no, baby, don't cry. You haven't done anything wrong. Shhh." He wrapped his arm around her shoulders, kissed her forehead and rubbed soothing circles on her arm. Gently, he wiped the tears from her face and she shook her head in disappointment at herself.
Jasmine whispered "I'm sorry, Alex."
He slowly laid down and pulled her with him. She decided to sit, stradling his lap as he propped himself of his elbows.
"There's no need to be sorry my sweet." Jasmine leaned forward and kissed him with tenderness. He replied with same need. Soon, the kissing became passionate, heated and lusty.
Some time later, the intense make out sension came to an end and the sun had vanished beyond the horizon of poppies.

Alex cracked his knuckles slowly, letting the sound escape and echoe through the empty arena. Jamie threw back 4 shots of vodka, then 2 of whiskey before jumping up and patting Alex on the back. Matt played the drums a little, getting into a rhythm before Jamie picked up the electric guitar. The familiar sound of Despair in The Departure Lounge plays and the sweet sound lingered in Jasmine's ears and she sat on the edge of the stage with a bottle of Jack Daniels.
"He's pining for her," she swung her head, singing. "In a people carrier..." she continued as Alex strolled over and offered her a hand up. She accepted and she put the bottle of poison down. Dancing slowly together on the stage, Alex's hands snaked themselves around the petite girl's waist and pulled her ever-closer into his body. An exhale escaped her mouth as this is what she'd been waiting for, contact.
Whispering the lyrics in to eachothers ears, they danced and danced. Little kisses were exchanged and hair ruffles were thrown in among the mix.
