Wolves

Chapter 11

"What?!" Vledz exclaimed in surprise.

"Yes! Hurry!" Snosali shouted, already rushing back to camp.

Vledz glanced at Twisty, then bolted after Snosali.

At his arrival, Vledz saw a bloodbath, but the scent of the blood reveled that it was mostly blood of the shadow wolves, but there was a hint of Darox's and Zosie's blood, including members of each pack.

Vledz looked around, but saw no sign of the shadow lord, but all her wolves were here, so she must be caught in the sea of fur, where Vledz can't spot her.

Suddenly, a flash of black rammed into Vledz side, causing him to fall to the ground. He looked up to see the shadow lord pinning him to the cold rock ground of the den.

"How dare you leave us? After all you have done for me!" She snarled. "I am highly disappointed in you, Jacer."

"How dare I?" Vledz snapped. "I never ripped anyone away from their family!"

"Ripped? How did I rip you away? I found you abandoned in the woods! I saved you! You were the best wolf I had!"

Vledz scoffed. "Yeah. I was like your puppet, more like! When did you ever give me freedom of my own?" He pushed himself up, which caused the shadow lord to stumble back against the wall.

For a minute, she looked hurt, but her expression was quickly replaced with a look of absolute hatred. 

"If this is how you want it to be, so be it!" She shouted, lunging at Vledz.

Vledz quickly dodged to the side, swiping his claw against her side as she flew by. He then launched at her before she could recover, his claws ripping at her pelt a mile a minute.

She bucked Vledz off, sending him flying. His paw was sticking out at a strange angle. He hit the wall, and his paw got stuck in one of the many cracks in the side.

He desperately pulled at his paw, but it was no use.

The shadow lord advanced slowly, knowing that this would be an easy kill, as Vledz could only flail his hind legs.

Just before the shadow lord reached Vledz, Twisty rushed at her and knocked her down.

All of a sudden, Vledz paw slipped free of the walls grasp. He looked over at Twisty, who was barely managing to keep the shadow lord trapped.

He leaped up and fell down on top of the shadow lord, causing the air to be knocked out of her. 

Seeing the window of opportunity, Vledz snapped viciously at her neck, going straight for the kill. 

As he stepped back, he watched as the shadow lord convulsed a few times, then collapsed and gave her last breath.
