Sisterhood Empire. Part 1

Chapter 2

I left the others behind me and moved along, I looked outside the window and saw the newcomers' bus outside the Big Gate. Suddenly I felt a touch. It was him.

'Michael!' I shouted with my melodic voice. But I didn't say anything else. Instantly his lips were on mine.

'Get a room!' Selene shouted and everyone else laughed. Michael blushed and I took his hand. I was so used of Selene’s jokes that they didn’t bother me at all.

Now we were on our way to the Great Hall. We got in and I start noticing the changed that were made since the last time I was here. New maroon curtains, bigger tables and of course new students all around. 

'Laura! Can you stop observing the decoration and find us some seats?' Selene told me.  

I felt uncomfortable once again that she read my thoughts. I hit her on the hip and walked to Michael. 

'Hey guys! I found a spot!' he shouted and everyone followed him. It was a table in the middle of the Hall. It was the biggest table with the most seats. 

'I like how discreet we are, always!' Selene commented, but sat in the center of the table.  

'You wanted it to find a seat and you did! Thanks to Michael!' I told her and sat next to her. 

'Thanks Michael!' she said ironically. 

After a couple of minutes, the entire group was together. Selene, Nate, Marcus, Michael and Jake.

I looked away to find familiar faces from my last-year classes. I found some but I had to say that many newcomers were in the room. No one seemed to care like me so I started talking to Michael, who was sitting next to me. He always looked at me with those sweet eyes, which i couldn't resist. 

I took his hand. 

'I missed you.' he whispered to me. I held his head between my two hands and kissed him tenderly.

He started talking about his vacations. He said that his summer was dull. He spent it with his parents in Rio De Janeiro. I couldn't see how dull could it be somewhere like in Rio... 

The bell rang once again. The food was on the buffets. I sent Michael to bring me food and Selene did the same with Nate.

I put my hands on the table and stared away. My gaze was vacant. I was thinking how much I’ve missed Michael this days. 

'Who was the first person who told you about Michael?' Selene surprised me.

'You, you, you!' i answered directly. She was the one introducing us on the first place.

After the boys returned, we started eating and discussing all together. 

'When the old man is gonna talk?' Marcus asked. 

'Well, I believe in 15 minutes or so...' Nate replied, looking at his big black watch. 

'Same old story, dude!' Marcus said with indignation. 

Suddenly he stood up and climbed to his chair. He pulled his long hair behind, and looked at us with a serious face. 

'My dear students, I wish that you all had really nice summer and I hope that this year will be as delighted the others have been but you mustn't break the rules. Don't, don't, don't, don't... The consequences are going to be rough and...' before he finished his imitation, we heard someone coughing behind him. It was Mr. Malkovich, the headmaster of the academy. Always serious as he was, pulled the chair away from Marcus and he fell on the floor. Everyone started laughing. 

'Have a nice year Marcus!' he said and walked towards the center of the room. 

'Dear students. First of all, I want to welcome you to another year in our academy. I want also to remind you that in here you are safe from... everything that exists out there. Now, about the rules... They are the same from previous years. Every student must be inside the boundaries of the campus and do not cross those of the Damned Forest. You know the timetables. Do not walk around when it is past the curfew.' His gaze wandered around the room and stayed more than usual in our table.

He continued his speech but Nate distracted me. He gave me a note.

Hey doll! At 12 o'clock we arranged a small party in my dorm. You can't miss it and you know it! Laura is in! You can bring whoever you want! You know that i cannot say no to you!

                                                                                                                                                        Jake.

I smiled and nodded at him. I was in.

The party was against the rules and if someone catches us, punishment is a sure thing. But we wouldn't hurt anyone! We hadn't even started classes yet.

I turned to Jake and winked.

By that time, the headmaster's speech was over. That night was the "welcome ball". It was mainly for the newcomers.

Hmm... the ball. I had forgotten about it. New students... Had forgotten about them too! I liked the idea of meeting new people, especially if in those "new people" something hot was included! 

I smiled widely and turned to Laura. I might be the one reading minds but she knew exactly what I was thinking. She made a grimace and said:

'Newcomers? Boring, huh?' and laughed sarcastically. I stood up, abruptly.

'Yeah, yeah! Let's go now!' i told her and she stood up too. 

The Great Hall was empty by now. Everyone was in the registration room to get their new schedules. The registration room was in the building where the teachers' offices were and on the other side of the campus were the dormitories, next to the forest. The Damned Forest! Yeah, everyone thinks of Harry Potter when they hear it..

Personally i couldn't understand why all that banned-forest-stuff. But I knew that the forest, every full moon was used by the werewolves in our academy. Besides those days there was nothing wrong about it. 

I had been there once with Nate when we skipped a class. For us it wasn't something to be feared in there. It was a simple forest. Nothing mysterious. 

And somewhere there it was a forest glade with a river. The reflection of the sun rays on the water was magical. This beauty was rare.

'It's perfect Nate! I cannot understand why it's forbidden!' i turned to him.

'I guess they think that some immature kids will do this!' he replied and pushed me in the river. I pulled him with me of course. In this track the day continued...

I looked at Nate wondering if he was thinking the same as we were passing in front of the forest. He was discussing with Mike but he winked at me. I ran to Laura.

'Well? The boyfriend dumbed us?' I held her hand and nodded to Mike.

'You wish! I'm just giving him some space! I let him talk here and there to people!' she said jokingly.

'Is he coming to the party after the Ball?' i asked.

'I don't know. I haven't told him yet. But really, Seline, i want to talk to you. Since we don' have class today, you can tell me what you did in the summer. Everything!' She emphasized the last word.

She was always worried about me. I was not talking much. I had the ability to know what was on her mind every single minute, that's why she was trying so hard to know what, was going on in mine. Of course, she is the only person in the entire world that I could truly trust. She was my best friend. She was a sister to me. 

I looked at her and said.

'Okay, i'm gonna let you interrogate me this time!' i said and we started giggling.

We were already to the Registration room and we were waiting to call our names.
