Anxiety and helplessness go hand in hand
That is what I have found so far.
They do not necessarily have to live
Within the same person.
But where one is found,
It is common for the other
To be close by
Occasionally letting itself be known.
What I find
Is when someone cannot
Cry out in pain
Cry out for help,
There is a heavy weight
Felt in the air
Running through
Leather-tight skin.
Helplessness.
When one does not know
How to help this person
Feel any better
They feel useless.
They want to help.
But this person cannot tell them
And that person cannot know.
Communication is lost
To the void
To the silence.
The only thing that can be seen
Is pain.
