I opened the bag and chucked the contents out from it onto my bed.

A US Woman's football team jersey and shirt with what I'm guessing Alex's football number on it since it said Alex Morgan on the top.

And a US team football beenie.

The stuff I got from alex was pretty cool. The jersey and shirt would be baggy just the way I liked them.

I put the shirt and jersey onto hangers and into my closet. As for the beenie I just chucked it into my sock drawer.

I changed into a pair of black sweats and a plain black hoodie which said I'm awesome in bold white letters in the front.

I chucked on a pair of vans and then I heard the car hoot. That was my call. Kelly came to pick me up today so I could go get some chemotherapy today.

I just knew that today was going to was going to be horrible.

"Hello Lil Astronaut are you ready to embark on a adventure today?"

Kelly always tried to cheer me up before I got chemo.
It never worked but I faked a smile.

"Fire away Kelly!"

We drove off, passing the houses in the neighborhood and the local park.

There were a bunch of kids and teenagers hanging by the skatepark and the jungle gyms. Some played touch, others played a game of soccer.

I wanted to be out there having fun as well.

The hospital wasn't far from my house. I stayed about 4 blocks away from it.

One thing I could never understand was why we had to get a parking ticket to park at the hospital parking lot.
Which meant every time we would have to pay not only for my medical bills but also for a parking spot.

I thought it was absolutely ridiculous.

I slammed the door shut and started walking to the chemotherapy ward. Kelly quickly caught up to me and gave a look of sorrow. I ignored it,I didn't need her being sorry for me, in fact I don't need anyone to feel sorry for me. It's not as if they understand what I'm going through.

"Good morning Cassy. How's my favourite patient doing today?" Dr Langley said with a twinkle in his eye.

This man was the gayest person and you would be able to see it within a few minutes. The way he spoke and the hand gestures gave it away pretty quick.

"I'm good Doc how's Jared and Issabella doing?"
Jared was his husband and Issabella was there daughter who was adopted.

"Oh honey, the usual Jared is busy with his art and little Issy Is hyper as always. Come dear let's get you started on the chemo. The quicker you get it done the faster you go home."

I sat down in the examining chair and out he came with a needle and the clear chemo hanging In a drip bag from the wheeler it hung from.

I pulled up my sleeve on my left arm. Dr Langley tried his best to always be as humanely possible. But no matter what getting a needle stuck in you was the worst.

After he had finished attaching the needle to me he joined the plastic tube to the needle and started the chemo.

The solution had started to run through the pipe and into me.

"Go make yourself comfortable."

I nodded and left towards the cancer lounge. Kelly had vanished she knew I hated to have company while I got treatment so she would go to the cafeteria and have a cup of tea or run some errands for the house.
