She always looked at me with her realistic looking eyes but I never questioned why she looked so real. Why her skin felt so soft, why everyday she would be in a new spot or why it looked like she watched me. I never asked about any of it, I wouldn't get an answer anyways.

I just knew that there was a doll out in the hall, the doll with beautiful blue eyes, the soft fair skin, the skinny nose and its small lips. It had the words Susie on her neck.

So I called her Susie, since I was alone in this big house, Susie was my best friend. I would put her in the stroller I forced my owner to buy for Susie, I would strap her in and run around the house laughing. I would spray her with my perfume and giggle a bit.

"I will only share my perfume with you, because I only share things with people I love." I said to the doll spraying my perfume on her dress. I scrunched up my eyebrows a bit, I called her a person. She looked so real, but she was a doll. Maybe she isn't because what doll would look like her, exactly like a real girl. I straightened Susie's dress forgetting my thoughts. "It's tea time!" I announced.

I was home schooled and Mrs. Samson would always make me put Susie away, she said she felt "uncomfortable" with Susie around. She told me the doll would look at her with hate, like it wanted her to leave.

I would put Susie on my bed and leave her some tea, telling her to play what she wants. Once Mrs. Samson left I would run up to my room and see Susie on top of my dresser or on my table.

"How did you get there?" I would say sarcastically. I never knew why I didn't think it was strange for the doll to move its place. No one could have moved her, my owner is in the basement all the time and no one else is in the house. It never seemed strange to me, I was only looking at her blue eyes, and then announce what we would do.

I would leave her in the halls and hear high heels click, but once I opened the door she would just be sitting out there with her same face.

I could have told my owner that Susie kept moving and he would get rid of her, or bring her to the basement.

But why would I get rid of my only friend?

Susie was my best friend and my room was her room. I had a small bed for her, I moved it when my owner was out of town and he never suspected anything. I always did things for Susie, I would make her feel like it's her house too.

The debt was never left unpaid.
