"But mom, its the beginning of my senior year. Why would I want to start over in a new school when I've been back in Miami since my freshman year?"

"Honey, its your last year. You can make it work. If not for you, at least for your dad & I?

My mom smiled at me, and grabbed my hand expecting me to agree.I Sighed."Fine."

We were in our new house or should I say, mansion , unpacking the last and final boxes. Dad was an attorney at a huge law firm, while mom was a college professor who got a better job offer working for one of the colleges here. So, to sum it up we were pretty wealthy which is why we moved to the wealthier side of California.

I sighed in frustration. This was a huge change for me. I've never even been to California, let alone comfortable enough to move here. Its like I left my whole life behind.

My Friends. More importantly, my best friend, Heather Gray. Then there's Drew. My abusive boyfriend. I'm secretly glad we moved here, especially since its away from him. I've tried to end the relationship a few times, but it never turned out good.

I snapped out of my thoughts when there was a loud crash just outside of the house.

"Mom, Dad!What happened?"

"Its okay honey, the movers just dropped a box that had all of your cheer leading trophies." Mom explained.

That's the thing I forgot to mention about myself. I absolutely Love cheerleading. I've been taking gymnastics since I was old enough to walk. Actually, back in Miami I was the captain of my old cheer team the Jackson High Jaquars. I've won so many cheer competitions that I lost count in the 8th grade. That was one of the reasons my mom wanted me to be excited about moving here. She was trying to encourage me to try out for the cheer team. She knew I would make it & I knew I would make it, but would I like it?Would it be anything compared to the team back home?Or would it be a huge disaster waiting to happen? I had one day to decide. Because the first day of school starts tomorrow & so does tryouts.

"Kaleigh, wake up. Its time for school!" Mom hollered through my door. "Ughhh", I groaned. I am absolutely NOT a morning person. I turned over to look at my Justin beiber alarm clock, which said 6:12. School doesn't start for another two hours, but my mom knows how long it takes me to get ready so she wakes me up extra early. As I get up to check my iPhone, my feet get tangled in the sheets and I fall flat on my face. "Great way to start the day", I murmured and went to my closet to get my shower cap & robe.

After a 30 minute long shower, a 15 minute long makeup session, & the 30 minutes it took to get completely dressed, I was finally ready.

I had perfectly straightened my natural blonde hair, applied the right amount of eyeliner,(which really brought out my baby blue eyes), & had chosen to wear dark skinny jeans, a white T-shirt with a black and white blazer. I tied it all together with my black pumps that I had gotten for my 16th birthday.

After grabbing a bottle of water and an orange and saying my goodbyes to my parents, I grabbed my keys and left. Once I was in my car on the way to the school, I realized that I was still uncontrollably nervous. Even though I was a senior, it was still my first day of a new school. When I pulled up in front of the school I noticed only one thing about it: The brunnete who was wearing a cheer leading uniform, leaning against the huge building, & the dark haired boy with a leather jacket who was sucking on her neck.

As I made my way out of my car, doing a quick hair and make-up check before exiting, I noticed that everyone standing in the parking lot was staring at me, mainly the brunette. Even the dark haired guy had looked up to see what everyone was staring at. When he looked at me, our eyes met for a second before I turned away. But I didn't turn away quick enough to catch the brunette glare at me.

In an instant, I had forgot I was walking and ended up running smack into someone causing them to drop all of their things.

"Oh my god, I'm so sorry!" , I exclaimed and instantly helped the person pick up their things.

"No problem, its fine." I looked up and found myself staring at a perky red-head girl with green eyes. She was really pretty in her blue dress & jean jacket with black stilletos. She smiled up at me & held her hand out ."I'm Haven."

I smiled at her and shook her hand. "Kaleigh."

"That's a really awesome name. I've always wanted a name like that but my parents had always liked the name Haven. Hey, your name rhymes with my sister's, her name's Haley.........."

The redhead was still talking but I had drifted off when I noticed the same guy staring at me. I felt myself blushing, perfectly showing the dimple in my right cheek, and immediately turned away when I saw him smirk at me.

"Hello, earth to Kaleigh.", Haven was saying.

"I'm sorry, what did you say?"

"I said, do you want to walk with me to class. While you were busy staring at Austin over there, I caught a glimpse of your schedule. We have every period together except 4th."

"Who's Austin?" , I asked clearly confused. Haven nodded her head in the dark haired guys direction. "That's him. Austin Hampshire. He's our schools very own Bad-boy." Haven said in a mocking tone. "Well I wasn't staring at him." , I lied.

"Sure you weren't." said Haven , disbelief visible in her voice.

"Just come on already. We'll Be late for class." I pulled her arm practically dragging her into the school building, trying desperately to change the subject. But before I could walk into the school building, I stole a glance in Austin's direction. Unfortunately, he was already staring in mines. Our eyes met for a quick second before he winked at me, smirked, and turned away. Quickly, I hurried into the building walking with Haven to my first period class thinking of nothing but Austin.
