Meredith's POV

I walked through the halls of the school with a frown on my face just wanting to be home snuggling Ethan. It's Monday morning and the only thing I've been able to do is go to the police station, ask to see Ethan, and then get rejected. I don't know how I'm supposed to tell the cops that Ethan isn't to blame.

"Hey are you ok?" Megan asked as she walked up to me and threw an arm around my shoulder. "Yep just peachy." I said sarcastically.

"Look I'm sorry, we'll find a way to get him out." She said as she took her arm off of my shoulder. I sighed not wanting to be at school without Ethan. I walked to my Literature class and tried to get to work on my project.

I walked into the police station noticing the man who arrested Ethan. He hasn't been here any other times so this is my first time seeing him since. He had his feet propped up onto the counter with a coffee cup in his hands. When he noticed me his eyes widened and he fixed himself to where he was sitting up straight looking dumb as fuck. I didn't dare greet him, I simply got to the point.

"I want to see him."

"See who?" He asked as if he didn't know who I was talking about.

"Stop fucking with me! I want to see him right now!" I shouted at him as anger was boiling through me.

Bad day to mess with me

"Is that any way to talk to yo-" He stopped himself mid-sentence and thought of something else to say, "I can't let you see him."

"And why the fuck not?! I have a right to see him." I shouted at him as I neared his desk. "Oh really? And what right is that?" He asked as he gave me a smirk.

Well fuck, seems like I should have taken Law Enforcement as one of my classes or whatever the fuck it's called

"Well... I don't know nor do I give a shit, so please just let me see him." I basically begged him. My voice cracked and I was basically fighting my tears back. He stared at me for a bit as a stressed look washed over his face. He sighed and slumped into his chair.

"Look, I would let you if I wasn't going to get in trouble. I could get fired for letting a criminal out of his cell just for someone to see him." He said with another sigh.

"What about those people that get to see them and talk to them over the phone in a booth?" I asked confused.

"You know what? I'll show you something that's even better, follow me." He said as he stood up from his chair and began to walk down a hall.

Confused, I followed him down the hall into a room wanting to know anything that has to deal with Ethan. The room had a glass window that allowed you to see the front lobby, in the center there was a big dark wood desk that had many files stacked neatly on top. Surrounding the office were many file cabinets that were pressed up against the wall. The officer sat in his wheel chair and began to type rapidly on the computer that was placed on his desk as well.

"Have a seat while I pull it up." He said motioning to the two leather chairs that were placed in front of his desk. I quietly sat down and cleared my throat, since it was very quiet and awkward. He suddenly stopped and stood up walking to the window and closing the blinds. This made me feel extremely uncomfortable and I swallowed the lump of nervousness in my throat. He quickly shut the door as well and walked back over to his computer.

"Don't worry, relax, if someone were to see what I'm about to show you I'd lose my job and most likely go to jail. Honestly, I don't care if I loose it I'm getting old anyways." He said as he turned his screen around so that I could see it.

I don't know what he meant because he wasn't that old. He was an average adult. Maybe in his late 30s early 40s?

Anyways, the picture in front of me had me confused as hell. There stood Ethan holding the door handle in his hand. I looked down at the time and date that the surveillance camera was showing and frowned. It was caught on the first night I had met Ethan around the same time. Whoever this guy was looked a lot like Ethan but had different clothes on from what Ethan was actually wearing.
