happy halloween!!

The question that Michelle directed towards the long table of students was ignored by one brown haired boy who couldn't seem to keep his phone away from his face - Peter.

He was texting his girlfriend, who was at a Halloween store picking out her perfect costume to match his. After they debated on what to get for a while, she sent him one single text.

ugh. can't decide. video chat? you need to see the costumes to help

He called her, not caring that he was in the middle of practice. Most everyone was talking, anyway. It wasn't an important practice, he convinced himself as he watched her face pop up on screen.

"Hey," he said, grinning like he always did when he got to see her.

Ned leaned over. "Is that ___?" he mumbled.

Peter nodded. "Uh-huh."

"Hi, ___!" Ned called, waving into the camera.

"Hey, Ned," she said, smiling wide. "What's up? Are you - are you guys at practice?"

"Yeah, but it's cool," Peter said, waving a hand dismissively. He chose to ignore the hard look he was getting from Michelle, who dropped the questions and picked up a book instead. "It's cool."

"Okay. Flyboy," she said, her voice excited, "I found, like, three okay costumes. But they're all knock off versions."

"That's what you get for waiting until Halloween to get your costume," Peter jabbed playfully.

"True. But look at these!" She held up one package of costume. "Space Princess with Buns," she read, "and the hair is weird and the dress is five inches too short. But that's not as bad as-" She stopped, grabbing another one. "Sexy Space Princess Red and Gold Deluxe Costume. Gag!"

"Yeah, that one is gross," Peter said, scowling. "Don't get that one."

"I wouldn't dream of it," she replied, shuddering and putting it back on the shelf. "There are a few that are decent, though. But am I going to be A New Hope Leia or what?"

"Whatever you want, princess," he said.

Flash craned his neck to look around Ned and at the phone. He turned his eyes back to the school newspaper he was reading. "Tell her to go with the slave outfit," he joked, and Ned glared daggers at him.

"Shut up," he said.

"Was that Flash?" she asked.

"Yeah," Peter replied. He scowled with disgust. "Sorry about that."

"Aw, I'm okay. I'm worried about you, though. You spend so much time with him, flyboy. I worry he might change you one day," she joked.

He grinned. "Not likely."

"Your Han Solo costume," she said, turning her attention back to the shelf. "Does it look like the A New Hope version?"

"Yeah."

"Then I'll get this one," she replied, plucking the matching Leia one off the shelf.
