"Ugh, I didn't want to break the ice this soon!" Josh said slightly aggravated. I didn't think he'd act like this.
"Why is this thing you need to tell me so bad? I mean, I get powers! I need to tell my family..." I said aloud.
"Well that's what we need talk to you about sweet-pea." Meriah said more serious and less sarcastic than normal.
"My family? How are they apart of this?"
"That's the thing. They aren't."
"But they... well... a-aren't your family anymore." Josh said practically forcing the words out of his mouth.
"W-wait... what? I-I'm not understanding this clearly." I stammered.
"Let me tell you simply if it breaks your heart. You were destined to be here since you were born, right? So you were destined to be locked away from your family. Once you entered that door, your family is gone. Poof. You were never born, but you still exist. This group is your family now. And even if you tried to go back in time, you'll still end up here. You can't leave this group, our boss told us we can't leave the group or the world could perish."
"I-I..." I couldn't breathe. My eyes started to water. I could see Josh walking towards me to embrace me in his warmth. He hugged me for a while.
"It's okay. You can let it out. I can tell your more than upset. Please. Stay strong. You'll get through this. We all did." Josh comforted me with his words. I kept crying. I still didn't believe that I was in this weird place, that my family doesn't know I exist, and everything else in between. Just don't look at Mariah for an example. She didn't turn out the best. Josh whispered.
I chuckled, trying to get the best of the situation, if there was anything good about it.
"Miss, Estell, was it? Please. If you could, follow me. I'd think you'd want to get settled in for now. You can let your emotions out there if you'd wish."
Josh wiped a few loose tears from my cheek. I could tell he went through the same trouble and he knew how I felt.
I nodded my head and looked up into Josh's eyes. I didn't understand how he knew where my tears were on my cheek, or how he could look so amazing, but his eyes were so captivating even if he can't see me looking into them. I snapped back to reality once again and slowly treaded to catch up to Ciae.I thought this place would be more like a prison, but it feels more homey than prison. The hallways aren't longer than a normal length, and the rooms, all aligned in rows of three along the wall to symbolize the six people in the group, were fairly nice. I didn't peek into the occupied rooms, but I got to look at the vacant ones.
"You can choose from the Magenta colored room or the Yellow colored room. Either is fine" Ciae said politely.
"I guess I'll take the Magenta colored room. It seems more my style." I said gesturing to my mostly pick clothing.
"Okay. You don't have much of anything so in there is provided some snacks, extra pillows and blankets, a sewing machine if you feel like making some outfits, this room is the only one with a sewing machine to be honest, a cellphone in case you didn't have yours on you, and a few more necessities. You can have fun decorating as we left a things in there so you capfuls have some fun with you room."
"Oh gosh, that much just so I can stay here?"
"The boss' courtesy. He wants all of us to be comfortable here."
"That makes sense. Well, thank you." I went to give Ciae a 'thank you' hug. She was startled, but returned the hug.
"Well, while you settle in, I'll let Meriah, Josh and Amber know to make dinner and get everything ready. Please, make yourself at home, as this is your home now. There is a surprise in there, just so you know." She walked away with a wink as if not to realize what she said effected me more than she thought.
I walked into the room and was astonished. It was pretty big, with a queen size bed and a couple blankets spread across it in a stylistic manner. Everything was too amazing, but the one thing I couldn't miss was a little white and orange cat that I couldn't mistake for anything else for miles.
My wondrous cat Charlie.
I jumped on the bed and he climbed on my legs and licked my cheek as I pet his soft fur. He was here. My best furry friend was here. How? I didn't want to know because all I was happy about was that I got to see him again. I didn't think these new friends could work their magic, but they did.
As happy as I was, this room was killing the mood with the lack of Estell. I needed to get my decorating on quick! I started by hangin up curtains on the windows. I never thought to look out the windows before.
What I saw was a beautiful city-scape along an ocean. We were in a pretty tall building, I'm assuming "The Mystic Times HQ". It was so beautiful with the night sky cascading over the lit up buildings.
I hung the sheer pink tinted curtains on the windows, as that made the skyline even prettier. I put a small rug down with a fluffy pillow, as per usual. Charlie went down from my bed and on to the pillow to get comfy. I hung up some of the picture frames that were apart of the Magenta aesthetic. I put a lamp on the desk and one on my nightstand, and hung up some small decorations here and there. I felt like this is the room I've always wanted.
I sat down on my bed, and from exhaustion I collapsed on my newly claimed pillows. I saw Charlie hop onto my bed and curl up next to me. He started purring, and I drifted off to sleep.
