"How many of them?" Gregariza demanded.

The young man looked at the ceiling as he tried to remember. "Around thirty when they started to attack, but I honestly am just guessing there. Could've been twenty more standing behind the walls, I just couldn't tell." The frustratingly unhelpful member of Theta squad that had returned to deliver Jag to the facility was talking nervously, afraid of slipping up in the presence of such a high ranking officer.

"Set up a com-link with Captain...Oderm," Gregariza finished hesitantly, still not used to the sudden changes of rank within the squad. But such things happen when a third of them die battle; now that had to make do with whomever they had left.

The soldier nodded and got to work.

Gregariza turned to his board of advisors, whom were currently sat around a large, round table in silence, listening eagerly for news.

"I want us to catch this bugger today. If he makes it off with the stolen information and codes for making the meta-type template, then our secret weapon is worth nothing. Further down the road even, such an event may lead to them ultimately beating us in a full scale war, if it comes to it."

The advisors nodded gravely; they all knew the stakes.

"Sir, we have a connection with Captain Oderm. Waiting for your order."

"Put him on the hologram," Gregariza ordered.

A three dimensional projection appeared in the middle of the round advisors' board, comprised of the bust of Oderm.

"Sir, we have defeated Drigs' forces over at his hideout. However, he escaped with a handful of men, and is now travelling to where we believe Illgis' abandoned car is," Oderm reported concisely, but also understanding the sense of urgency. He may not be such a bad captain after all, even for a man as early in his youth.

"And where would that be?" Gregariza asked impatiently.

"We are not sure yet, sir. But we are closely tracking Drigs on the road. Our convoy is less than sixty seconds behind him, and gaining.

Gregariza clenched his fists. "How many men do you have?"

Oderm looked sullen, "Eight Theta squad members, twenty standard soldiers and a bomb disposal unit."

"Good. More is on the way."
