So. School's got me messed up, and my old schedule is completely thrown out the window. On that note, what would it be like if Jayfeather was in a modern day American school?

Let's start with elementary school. Since elementary students are younger than junior high/middle and high school, he'll be Jaykit then.
Jaykit might be friends with his classmates, like the nursery—none of them knowing anything worse than getting uninvited to a birthday party, and app enjoying recess like kids should. This would last until, let's say, 5th grade. Similar to the nursery at ThunderClan, the kits play outside without the dangers of the real world—until they're 6 moons old.

Let's talk middle school (or junior high). Congrats! He has graduated elementary and has received the name Jaypaw. Getting a mentor and a bunch of more apprentice jobs is like getting your schedule. Lockers are fun at first, like patrols, but then become muscle memory—and maybe annoying. Unfortunately, I presume Jaypaw would have gotten bullied from here on for being blind. Poor Jaypaw would have trouble finding his destiny, etc.

Ahh. High school. Congratulations to Jaypaw for graduating and taking on the name Jayfeather. High school won't be any different than middle school in terms of lockers and schedules, but he'll have to navigate a larger building and survive with more people and teachers for four years. This is like all the new responsibilities that come with becoming a full warrior/medicine cat. But, this is normally where Jayfeather would start to choose a career path, but since that was set in stone a while ago, I assume he'll just choose electives relating to medicine without a doubt.
