Emma had told him about her true feelings and he took it better than she thought he would. He said that he only wanted her to be happy and if she was going to be happy with Regina then that would be fine, he would accept her decisions.

                          
Emma thought Regina didn't feel the same way, but she was wrong. Regina was so in love with Emma but her true love had just died so she didn't really want to have her heart broken again.
