"If you and Deku want a quirk so badly, then you both should just take a swan dive off the roof, and hope to get one in your next life!"

Bakugou's words stung. Of all the ways he insulted you, this had to be the most extreme. Ruining Izuku's notebook. Telling someone to commit suicide. This was just... wrong. The crude comment piled on top of everything else that you were depressed about: Your parents. Your lethal quirk. Your very existence.

Steadying your breath in an attempt to stay calm, you stood there, with Izuku, in silence. Wanting to break the silence, you stood up for yourself.

"...A hero never discourages others from achieving their goals! They don't harass others for their weaknesses! You're never going to become a hero, Bakugou! And you know why? Because a true hero doesn't act like an overconfident, prideful JERK!" You spat out. "Telling us to commit suicide, and then acting like you're going to be the best hero... What... What a joke..." You expected Bakugou and his two friends to depart from the empty classroom... But they didn't.

When you looked up at the three boys, they were staring at you with mixed expressions of anger and surprise. Then, you felt a burning sensation in your palms. Looking down at your clenched hands, you realized that they were letting out sparks of condensed energy. Panicking, you clasped your hands behind your back to dispel the energy. Your quirk had activated. The quirk that you had managed to hide for so long. The quirk that you wanted absolutely no one to know about.

Your eyes widened in shock.

"No, no... Not at a time like this... I can't reveal my quirk to anyone yet... Especially him..."

Wanting to avoid conflict, you grabbed Izuku's arm. "I-Izuku, let's go." You looked down, and pushed your way past both of Bakugou's cronies. Expecting to walk out the door in a quiet fashion, the contrary happened. As you approached the exit of the classroom, you ended up bumping head-first into Bakugou's chest.

"Where do you think you're going, dumbass?" Bakugou sneered. Explosions were seen to emit from his hands, in a threatening sort of way. You didn't bother to look up, attempting to walk around the bully. But he wouldn't let you pass. Every time you tried to get past the explosive teenager, your open path was immediately blocked off. You tried negotiating. "L-Listen, Bakugou, we really need to go-"

"Go where..? It's only 3 in the afternoon." He clasped your left shoulder with one of his burning, hot hands; causing the fabric on your uniform to blacken. "...Besides, we need to talk."

Nervous, your right hand grasped Izuku's arm a little tighter, and you could feel the poor boy tremble. "About what?" It was almost unnoticeable, but your voice was shaking with every word.

The ash-blonde smirked. "About your hidden quirk, what else? You're supposed to be a quirkless piece of shit." He released your shoulder, and you took two steps away from him.

"W-What quirk..? I don't have any quirk, what are you going on about?" You decided to play dumb. Unfortunately, that just pissed off Bakugou even more. He grabbed you by the collar of your uniform, forcing you to let go of Izuku, and slammed you against the wall, steam emitting from his hands.

"You. You better not try to fuck around with me, ya' hear?" Bakugou growled. "So. I'm going to fucking ask you one more time. How'd you suddenly get a stupid-ass quirk?"

No reply.

"Were you hiding your quirk from me all along, you fucking bitch?!" He threw you to the ground, and a shock of pain raced throughout your body. You yelled out in response.

"P-Please... Stop..!" Izuku ran over to you. Your assailant shoved Izuku out of the way, motioning for his two friends to restrain the freckled boy.

You glared up at Bakugou with a pained expression. "...So what if I did..?" Fighting the sensation of needles pricking your nerves, you stood up in front of the bully, using your quirk in a fit of rage. You forced your quirk into the air particles around you and pushed the taller boy across the room. You stared bullets into Bakugou's friends, and they immediately let go of Izuku, shoving him towards you.

"YOU PIECE OF SHIT!!" Bakugou yelled out. He recovered quickly from your attack and used his quirk to propel himself in your direction.

Tugging on the verdant-haired boy's arm, you pulled him with you as you sprinted into a mad dash towards the window. Jumping out of the window with him, you used your quirk again to assure that both of you landed safely.

You looked at Izuku, who seemed to have trouble taking everything in. "Y-Y/N... Y-You have a quirk..?"

"...Yes." Your short response was enough for Izuku to know that you were putting yourself down.

Izuku didn't know the right things to say, but he was determined to make you feel better. "D-Don't feel bad for hiding it, it's okay-"

"It's not that, Izu-kun." Looking towards the pond that Izuku's notebook landed in, you walked over to it, snatched the hero analysis notebook from the koi fish in the water, and handed it to Izuku. You didn't want anyone to view you as a dangerous threat... Especially Izuku. He was like a brother to you, and you didn't want to let that relationship go. Looking away from the nervous boy, you let out a silent sigh. "Don't worry about me, Izu-kun..! Everything's fine."

You didn't want to tell him anything about your quirk, or how dangerous it was. Smiling weakly, you said your farewell to Izuku. "I'll see you tomorrow, Izu-kun." You murmured as you treaded away from your friend, beating yourself up for letting your quirk slip out so easily. "W-Wait, Y/N!" Izuku called out. You kept walking away, and ignored him. Despite the pain that pulsed through your body, you decided to take a stroll around the town, hoping to distract yourself about everything that troubled you.
