MY heart was thumping against my ear, the sound deafening any outside noise. I rapped on the door, with the steel box in hand. A maid opened the door and she smiled at me before asking, "How may I help you, miss?"

"Is Jimin home?" This was the first time I came to Jimin's house and I was a nervous wreck. My eyes quickly scanned through the interiors and it didn't faze me that every room filled with splendor and wealth. Every object and furniture in the house were furbished and polished, gleaming under the warm bright artificial lights.

The maid nodded. "What's your name? I'll tell him your here."

"Chaeyoung. Park Chaeyoung," I answered. I could barely hear my own reply.

Her bright chocolate eyes grew larger in surprise. "Chaeyoung?" she repeated. "Come in, Miss Park. Mister Park had ordered to let you in if you were to come by."

"Oh..." My cheeks were probably flushed. "Where is his room?"

She smiled in a way that made me a bit uncomfortable and embarrassed, as if she knew there's something between us. "The third floor, Miss. Last room on the floor. If you need anything, I'll be in the kitchen."

I thanked her and climbed the shiny marble stairs, up to the third floor. I took a few deep breaths when I reached the level and walked down the luminous hall decorated with opulent chandeliers and paintings until I reached his room.

I did something that was very childish but I was excited to see his reaction. I placed the steel box down on the floor and knocked on his door twice before dashing to hide, where I happen to be in a large, luxurious bathroom. I heard the door click open and a few moments of silence ensued. A clink reverberated slightly throughout the spacious corridor and a swish of the air, indicating his door closing, but not all the way. After counting to twenty, I came out of the bathroom, tiptoeing to Jimin's bedroom doorway.

The door was ajar which allowed me to take a glance in his room. I could only see parts of one enormous wall. He was sitting behind a long mahogany desk beside a long glass window with brown blinds. The grey steel box was set atop the desk, the lid opened. Jimin had a curious smile as he took out the items inside. He opened the bag of fortune cookies first. He ate the cookie labeled with one first and read the paper trapped inside.

Slowly, he ate through all nine of them. As he opened the last one and read the slip of paper inside, I watched his reaction.

His smile was so wide it made my heart flutter with happiness and ecstasy. Jimin placed all the little slips of paper back into the cellophane bag and tucked it into the corner of the box. He moved on to the poker card "book" and already, he was chuckling. He read through them one card at a time, his face glowing.

My gift definitely didn't cost as much as what he gave to me, but to see him so happy like this, it made me feel better than anything.

I wanted him to know that I love him. Enough so that he never questions it again.

"I love you, too, idiot," I heard him say, his fingers lingering on the last card. "Everything, every part of you."

I covered my mouth with my hand to avoid making any sounds. Jimin opened the envelope and took out the letter Jungkook wrote to him. His fingers pinched the edges of the paper, wrinkling it. As he read each of the heartfelt words Jungkook wrote, I saw his face turn solemn and stoic. When he drops the paper onto the desk, I spotted a stream of tears running down his face.

You both missed having each other as best friends.

I know how it feels.

Choi Mina flashed in my mind for a second before I focused back on Jimin. I knocked on the door again. Jimin wiped his tears quickly before getting up. I stood away from view so he wouldn't be able to see me until he opens his door all the way.
