PROLOGUE
I opened my eyes, everything was orange-y, and bright that I can almost see nothing but bright orange. It was almost blinding. As my eyes adjusted to the brightness, I realized there was someone standing in front of me. Are we in a desert?
I figured she was a woman since her auburn hair flew at all directions as the soft wind blew. She was wearing a dress that fell just below her knees. “There you are.” She broke the silence. She was limping when she took a few steps towards me.
“I’ve been looking for you.” She added. I can almost feel light-headed at her sweet, velvet voice. I cannot see her properly, for her figure was backlit by the bright sun.
She surveyed the area and then again, she spoke. “Have you seen my other shoe?”
Oh. That was the reason why she was limping. Why is she asking me about her shoe anyway? And, who is this girl?
“What? Why?” the girl softly giggled. “Why are you looking at me like that?”
A loud buzzing, beeping sound impeded before I could reply.
It was my alarm clock. “7:00 AM”, it read.
I groaned, stunned at my dream. That dream which drowned me in a deep ocean of emotions that it almost rendered me numb.
