The bell rang. Damn..
I still needed time to finish my A-Push paper.
I packed my things and walked out of the independent study room. First thing I see?
Ivy Taylor. That bubble-gum hair. She was smiling and talking to someone I didn't know the name of. Or at the time I didnt think I knew.
It was Ryn. Ivy never really hung out with anyone but.I walked to them and smiled. "Ryn Scottson. You're still in school?"
He looked up, his smile turning into a blank glare.
Ivy rolled her eyes, the corners of her mouth rising.
"Do you need a ride home? I know you've got to hate the walk." I looked at her, somewhat noticing Ryn leaving.
She looked up at me and studied me for a second. Blue. Her eyes were blue. I'd always thought they'd be purple. Something just as strange as that soft head of hair.
"Yeah."While driving her home we made light conversation, smiling and passing the time. Until about halfway through when she seemed a little more tense somehow. Like she had just witnessed someone shoplifting and had to make light conversation with a cop.
"You okay?" I glanced at her.
She nodded staring ahead.
I had my suspicions about the place she was staying. She never talked about homelife, and was always eager to get away.
I stopped at the driveway, parking. Before I could unbuckle my seatbelt to walk her to the door, she was out of the car and at my window. "Thanks." She smiled and hurried inside.
I didn't get to talk to her about prom.
I drove home. It took about twenty minutes. Would've been around 15 but some girl decided to run across the street. Luckily she was alright, but she caused a lot of traffic weaving in and out of the cars.
I pulled into the manor, getting out. Caroline must have beat me home. I seen her walking in so I leaned back into the car and honked. She shot an angry glare and walked inside. Out of the both of us, she was more like dad.Speaking of, he met me at the door. Mr.Kareen Ranoke. Multi-billionaire, who to me didnt exactly fit the part. Of course he was elegant with his somehow perfect locks, but something about him seemed more withdrawn. Maybe that could be said for all of us.
"Tyson, I need you to cook tonight. I have another-"
"Meeting." I nodded and walked past him. "Got it." I heard the door close and dropped my bag. Kain picked it up happily. Her cat ears swiveled.
"Good afternoon Mr.Ranoke! How was school?"
I looked at her for a minute and continued up the stairs. "Well.'
I never really liked Fae. Kain was especially annoying. I didn't hear her walk away, but when I glanced behind me she was no where to be seen.I walked into my simplistic room. There wasn't much to it. I sat in the swivel chair and ran my fingers through my hair with a sigh. Caroline walked in the door. She was holding a black doberman puppy. His eyes shone a dark, almost black red.
"Did ... dad-"
"Yeah. He said his name's Ravondo.." She held him in front of her face, puzzled. "I barely take care of the garden and he trusts me with a puppy. Is he out of his mind?"
I chuckled. "You can always give him to Kain." She shot yet another glare.
"Like I'd trust her with anything. She's clumsy enough." She walked out. I could've swore I heard a sigh. Then again the vents had just been cleaned, so it might have been something with that.
I laid in the bed and shut my eyes. Bed at eight. I truly was an alien.
