Sam is my dog RIGHT NOW, he isn't dead!!

Okay, so I'm reading in bed when my door creaks open and Sam leaps into my room, jumps onto my bed and pins me down so I can't get up. He starts growling at the door and his head follows something unseen until it had gone from my door to the far left corner where it seeed to vanish because Sam looked down at me and got off and just lied down at the foot of my like he always does... like nothing happened.
