"Leah remember to do your homework!" Said mom.
" ok ok mom! I'm just finishing up on the phone!" I yelled back. It was my best friend Katie on the phone. " Leah if you need to do your homework, I should probably end the call. In fact I think we should because I haven't finished either."
" okay that's fine See ya at school tommorow. Bye." I said and with that I put the phone down. I took out my homework and started working.
I finished up my homework at 6:00, right before Lunch. That's also when my mom called me over to eat. I headed down the steps and to the table. "Did you finish your homework?" Asked mom.
"Yea I just finished." I said and sat down. I started to pour in rice that my mom had made today. I looked around noticing that my dad was no where in sight. "Where's dad?" I asked curiously.
" oh, he said he would be running late today, he'll be home by 12:00. And that's about the time you WILL be asleep." She said with a serious stare. I looked at her and nodded. "Yea sure... I'll be asleep...no problem." I said, and started to eat.
It was 10:00 and we were about ready for bed. We had done the usual, eat, talk, and chill in the living room. We were about to go up the stairs when there was a knock at the door. (We didn't have a doorbell because it was broken when we first got here.) I looked at mom, and she looked at me. " is it dad?" I asked while my mom looked through the peephole. She answered, calmly,
"No, it's not your dad, I don't know who it is." She said and looked towards me.
