I locked my self in my room for almost an hour. I start to forget about the message I got, and I get the braveness to go downstairs and get something to eat. It was strange that there was also no knock after that, not even from the mailman. Hopefully the package wasn't that important.

A few hours later my mom arrived from work. And finally my dad. It felt like I was seeing him after a long time. " Leah? Did you ever receive that package from the mailman I told you to get?" Asked mom.
" um, no I didn't. I don't think he came." I said.
"Okay... Maybe tomorrow." She said and with that we ate our dinner. But I still didn't tell anyone anything about the message.

Everything was going great when all of a sudden there was a knock at the door. It was getting late and no one was expecting anyone. "Do you think it's the mailman?" I asked.
"Maybe it is." She said and walked towards the door. She opened it and what she saw was nothing related to the mailman. It was a man who looked poor and lonely. He had shaggy unwashed brown hair, with clothes looked like they were worn for about a month, and shoes like, well he didn't have any.
"Hello? May I help you?" My mom asked as my dad came in from behind.
The man spoke with a grumpy but not grumpy voice. "Yes please, I...I need a place to stay, I was hoping that you could..." My mom looked at my dad with a curious look.

The grumpy man was now staying in the empty bedroom upstairs because my parents decided to let him stay for a bit. I didn't like this decision in any way. Especially the way he looked at me when he was going up the stairs. He had a small grin on his face like he was trying to tell me something like "I told you so."
