Devin's P.O.V.
I was only half listening to what the silly human beside me was saying because I was trying to locate the other werewolf. I parked my mustang beside her large black truck. Her scent was everywhere around the truck. I saw her talking to a human girl, a friend of hers I guess. She hadn't noticed me. Her friend, Allie, was teasing her with a hidden secret. As I turned around I bumped into Matt. He asked me what I was doing and I played the lost new kid looking for his locker. Naturally, Matt offered to help me find it. We began walking towards Allie and the gorgeous werewolf. Matt was wondering about my sunglasses and why I was wearing them inside.
"I have extremely sensitive eyes and these help," I said staring at the two girls. "Who are they?"
Matt followed where I had pointed and quickly answered with,"That's Taylor, my ex-girlfriend, and her best friend Alison." He noticed I was staring at Taylor and added,"Taylor is pretty, but really weird. Not a bad weird, but weird."
"Who broke up with who," I asked watching Alison look through her papers for something. As I waited for an answer, Taylor finally looked at me.
"Well Taylor broke up with me. She said it just felt too wrong," Matt admitted as he blushed deeply. "She didn't mean to hurt me. At least that's what she says."
"I want to meet them. They look very friendly," I said cutting off his rant. She was beautiful and he had called her weird. Stupid human boy. "Please introduce me to them."
"Dude I'd love too, but I don't know your name," Matt said as he grated on my nerves. He had seen my schedule and didn't look at my name.
"My name is Kevin," I said as calmly as I could. I was very eager to meet Taylor and I was hoping we would share a couple classes.
"Alright then, let's go talk to Taylor," he said with a sigh. "Gotta talk to her at some point."
With that we began walking towards the two girls. I watched as Taylor began to fumble with her books and then stopped, her eyes looking straight at me.Taylor's P.O.V
"Hey guys, this is Devin...," Matt trailed as the new guy walked to where we were standing.
"Hello, I'm Devin Gardner. Nice to meet you both," the new guy, Devin, said keeping his gaze on me. His eyes were beautiful, so why was he hiding them?
"Hi, I'm Alison but everyone calls me Allie. This is Taylor Collins, my best friend. It's nice to meet you too, Devin," Allie answered without hesitation.
"Hi Devin," I say in a whisper. Suddenly there was no one except me and Devin in the entire world. Well at least until Allie start snapping her fingers.
"Earth to Tay. Come on, snap out of it," Allie said while giggling. "It's time for class."
"Well it was nice to meet you, Devin. I guess I'll see you around," I said with a small smile. "Have a good day, Matt." With that we walked away towards our first class. When we got there and Allie and I took our seats, Devin walked in and walked straight to the teacher. He turned around after a few moments and looked straight at me.
"Is this seat available, beautiful," Devin asked walking to the desk beside me. "Listen and speak up, Lupus. Don't be frightened."
"When did you figure it out," I whispered. "If anything, what else am I?" I was frightened for the first time since discovering my powers. How did he know? Why wasn't he afraid? And see what's wrong with my powers?
"You are a witch, siren, and lupus," he replied simply. "I know because I too am lupus. I also have beserker. I believe that's why finding my mate is so important."
"Will discuss this more after school. Here's my phone number," I say as quietly as I can. "Oh and Devin, please don't tell anyone!" As soon as the words of my mouth the bell rang signaling time for the next class.
"I don't know why you're ashamed. Someday you'll make a beautiful wife," he said before kissing the handle in the classroom. At least he didn't me too much.
"Whoa, what was that about," Allie said as we gathered our books. "I think he likes you, Tay!"
"If only you knew the half of it,"I muttered under my breath."C'mon and let's get to class." We soon left homeroom and headed to second-year Latin class. Hopefully, Latin will go much smoother. Hopefully, Devin wasn't taking second-year Latin. Hopefully, Devin wasn't an uncontrollable beserker because lunch and Latin both hold the head cheerleader in them and she doesn't like competition, or me!
