8. Coachella

"A place to forget and just live through the music."

"Enjoy your stay." The flight attendant said as we walked out of the airplane.

"Thank you." I said as I took my earbuds out.

I carried my bags out of the plane and waited for Jaime. When we got out of the terminal we walked towards baggage claim. We only had one suitcase each to collect before we would be able to leave.

We were in California for the weekend to attend Coachella. It was just a weekend for us, no boyfriends or guys in general. Charlie was going to be in the studio and told me to have fun. God knows what Jaime's boyfriend was up to.

It had been a while since Jaime and I spent a weekend to ourselves. No drama or rumors, no one knowing who we are. An escape, and having music as well? Best way to escape anything. Music thousands of people enjoy and being with your best friend.

"I've never been so happy to be in the heat." Jaime said as we got into our Uber.

We were renting a house with Lauren and Alex, Liza and David along with all the others from David's vlogs. I was so excited to be here with everyone and just escape in the music.

"Me too, I can't wait to see the line up." I told her.

When we finally got to the house it was like everyone just got there. We paid for the Uber and walked in, it was cool to be around a bunch of youtubers. It was only day one and it was already exciting.

Jaime and I found our room and got dressed. I decided to just wear a tank top with some shorts and this cute hat, I normally go all out but having just been on a flight I was tired and lazy.
It was still a summer look and kind of Coachella vibe but it was just so tomorrow my outfit will outshine this one.

We met up with everyone when we were done. And it was really crazy to meet them all, especially since I love all of their videos.

"Hi I don't think we've ever met I'm Liza." Liza said as she came up to me.

"Hi, I'm Avelyn, I love your videos." I told her.

"Thanks, so I'm sure you know David and if you do then you must know everyone else." She said.

David walked over and gave me a handshake, "Yeah but you might not know Scotty. There's too much of him sometimes so we wouldn't be surprised if you had no idea who he was."

We all laughed and Scotty had a smile nonetheless. I met the rest of them and we talked for a little bit and I even got on David's vlog. It was really neat to be in one of his videos and see how it all worked. When we were all ready to go we decided to get a car together, I'm surprised none of us were tired.

"Ready to rock this year of Coachella?" Lauren asked me.

"Very." I told her.

We finally got to Coachella and gave them our tickets in exchange for our wristbands. When we went through Lauren stayed back and walked next to me.

"Hey so what's up with you and Charlie?" She asked.

I smiled, "We are dating."

"No way, and what does Shawn think about that?" She asked.

I sighed, we hadn't talked in two weeks. Mostly because of my break on instagram but he never even bothered to text. He knew how upset I was the last time I texted him. I had no idea why he was so upset and that's what made me mad. That I haven't given him a reason to be upset with me yet he is.

"Uh I don't know." I told her.

She gave me a questioning look, "Why?"

"We had a little...fight it wasn't really a fight but I was upset. I mean he was ignoring me and leaving me on read. I'm not sure he's just been acting weird." I told her truthfully.

"That's weird I mean it's Shawn." She said.

I nodded, "Yeah I know that's why it makes me feel upset. Cause it's not like him."

"It is pretty weird, did you say something? Or was something different about the way you guys talked?" She asked.

I shook my head, "No Nothing was weird." I lied avoiding telling her about the gc.

I didn't know who was listening who could use this information against him. I didn't want him out being the bad guy and everyone saying he's a bad idol that left his fans group chat.

Even with him being weird and upset I was still looking out for him. I hated that about myself sometimes, always the good caring loyal friend. No matter how much crap I get in return.

Lauren sighed, "I'd just text him, I mean the worst he could do is block you. But if I know Shawn I know he won't do that."

"Or maybe she could talk to him in person." We heard Jaime say.

I gave her a confused look, "What?"

"Well our little Shawny boy is performing today." She said.

I then looked at the line up board and sure enough in big bold letters was Shawn Mendes next to 7:00 pm. How did I not see this before? I really should've checked the lineup before coming. But then again it was the perfect time to talk to him.

To confront him.
