Chapter One

It felt like my whole body was paralyzed, but I was still in pain. My neck and head ached so bad I thought I was in a hell of my own.

I couldn't move my feet, arms, wrists, hands, or legs. It was as if they didn't know how to move, or my brain wasn't operating at all.

"Evelyn!" my eyes widen as I lean up in bed. Wait, what?

I'm in a new bedroom, rich golden wood surrounding me. I'm in a twin sized bed with beautiful patterns.

There was a giant window to my left, sunlight streaming into the dark room.

I'm in a silk nightgown with a thick book at the nightstand. Where am I?

"Evelyn, you're going to be late for shopping!" the large door opens to reveal a nicely cleaned up Lilith.

Her once shaggy brown hair gleamed neatly in a tight bun while she wore some fine robes. Her clouded brown eyes now gleam with happiness.

"Today's my last day before I go off to college and I wanted to spend it with you and Jennie shopping, remember?" she smiles warmly at me.

What's happening?

"Oh..ok," I take the comfortable bed covers off of me and stand up, wobbling a little.

"Are you okay?" her eyes brows furrow worriedly at me.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Just a weird dream," I give her a small smile.

"Now get dressed quickly! Jennie and I will be waiting in parlor making breakfast," and with that, she exits the room.

I pinch myself to see if I was still dreaming. I wasn't.

I shake my head before making my way towards the closet. My closet, perhaps?

I open it to reveal sweaters, jeans, skirts, and clothing of all kinds. My family was never able to afford this in the first place, though. Where exactly am I?

I take out a blue shirt with some jeans and white socks. I change into them before combing my hair.

My usual cold pale skin was a creamy color, the shade it was when I was younger. My ocean blue eyes looked a little brighter against my sleek long dark brown hair.

I apply a little bit of blush on my cheeks before placing a blue headband over my hair to part my side-swept bangs and checking myself in the mirror.

How come I actually look...good?

I then quickly make my way downstairs. The stairway was long and winding, also made of fine wood.

I look around in awe when I see Jennie. Her light brown hair was tied into a braid hugging her left shoulder and was wearing a green shirt with some shorts and sneakers.

"Here," she literally shoves some croissants and a drink into my arms before pulling me outside.

The sun blinds me for a second, and that's when inotice the beautiful gardens. I gasp when I see my favorite flowers.

"It's like you've never seen mum's garden before," Lilith chuckles at my expression. "Now come on!"

She pulls me into a car. I fumble with my seatbelt since I haven't been in a car for what felt like ages...or maybe was.

I have a small chat with Jennie before we make it to...London!

"Why are we in London?" I ask Jennie.

"We need to go to Diagon Alley for our supplies, remember?" she looks at me oddly. "You were excited this whole entire week since you got your acceptance letter to Hogwarts."

Hogwarts? Diagon Alley?!

"Do you know of a boy named Harry Potter?" I turn to her. She just gives me a dumbfounded look.

"Duh! Everyone knows about the boy who lived!"

I was in Harry Potter's world?!

"Yeesh you're slow this morning," Lilith takes my hand and we run into a small pub called the Leaky Cauldron.

Jennie shows Lilith the way through the people and we make it to a back alley with a wall made of bricks.

Lilith lets go of my hand and pulls out a willow wand. She taps three loose bricks in a circle before it started rearranging itself.

Soon, it became a doorway. Behind the brick wall was a bustle of people and colorful shops.

My mouth drops open when I see all the witches and wizards.

"What do you want to get first?" Lilith turns to me and Jennie.

"Ooh, an owl?" I ask excitedly.

"Yeah, I wanna cat!" Jennie adds.

Lilith chuckles and brings us to a pet shop. I look around to see a whole colony of owls.

"Aren't you pretty?" I smile as I stroke a white and black one.

"Is that the one you choose?" Jennie shows up out of nowhere.

"Yeah," I nod and lift her up. The owl automatically climbs onto my left shoulder.

Lilith was already at the front desk, our animals paid for. Jennie got a black British shorthair named Princess.

I chose Lullaby for mine since I found her near a lullaby box. She seemed intrigued by it, as well.

"Alright, we already got your wands, quills, ink, and cauldrons. What else do you need?" Lilith asks.

"School books, notebooks, and parchment," I say.

"You have great memory. I really thought you were dumb..." Jennie laughs at her own lame remark before we head to the bookstore.

I chose a whole bunch of notebooks. I was always fascinated and loved the fresh new pages bound inside.

Finally, we decided to head back to the Leaky Cauldron for some lunch/dinner.

I ordered a salad and soup while Jennie ordered Toad in the Hole (bread molded into an enclosed circle with meat inside and peas on the side) and Lilith just wanted butterbeer.

"This is really good," Jennie notes as she continued to eat quickly.

I just kept genuinely smiling. Was this what it felt like to be in a family? Well without the parents, obviously.

"Where's mum?" I wonder out loud.

"She and dad had to work early today. The Ministry had a special case," Lilith says as she continues to drink her butterbeer.

Dad?

Dad...is alive here?

"This train station is bigger than I remember," Jennie looks around. "Oh well, let's just get to platform 9 3/4 quickly."

Once we see the pillar with 9 and 10 on the edges, Jennie takes her things and runs straight into the wall.

I wave good bye to Lilith and follow Jennie. The setting around me immediatley changes.

I see the Hogwarts Express and many other witches and wizards my age.

I have no idea how I got here...but this is amazing.
