The Main Hall was loud with voices, silverware clinking on silverware, and many footsteps. Today was the first Quidditch game this year, and rumor has it Harry Potter was placed on the team.
Dumbledore and the other Professors had arranged a feast for breakfast to feed all the players for today's game.
I quickly finish my soup and wipe my face with a napkin before exiting the Main Hall and following some other students to the school field.
I find a seat in one of the tall Gryffindor booths and eagerly wait for the game to begin. It had been awhile since I had read the first book, but I remember someone does jinx Harry's broom.
Finally, Madame Pooch walks onto the field and announces the rules before throwing the main ball -- the quaffle -- into the air, signaling that the game began.
The Slytherin and Gryffindor players immediately race into the sky on their broom, each team trying to earn a point.
Gryffindor soon has 10, and then earns another 10 before Slytherin begins catching up.
I look around eagerly, excited that I was able to experience my first Quidditch match.
Harry was the seeker for Gryffindor, and experiencing first hand was so much more exhilarating than reading it.
I gasped a little when I thought he was going to fall. When he was so close to the snitch, I almost fell off my seat when he began dangling off his broom. My brown eyes widen when he only has one hand on his broom, the other dangling at his side.
The broom begins to sway around, making it harder for him to stay on the broom. Finally, it goes back to normal and Harry finally regains his spot and dives for the snitch once again.
I practically sank a foot back into my spot and clapped loudly when he swallowed the snitch, partly puked it out and Gryffindor won 150 points.
When the game ends, I quickly make my way back to my dorm to start my homework which I had neglected to see the Quidditch game.
It was a worthy trade.
