you're just so pretty in your pain.

As Fred and George stayed during the Christmas break at the Burrow, Harry and Lynnea didn't share a room this time. Harry was staying at Ron's, while Lynnea got Percy's old room, one of the Weasley's sons who rejected the family for the Ministry the moment Voldemort had returned.

Mrs Weasley had fixed Lynnea's face. The first time since weeks she could see how her features used to look like before there had been a Blaise Zabini in her life. But even Mrs Weasley was unable to fix the dark circles beneath Lynnea's eyes and the exhausted look upon her face. Looking in the mirror, she tucked her hair behind her ear, wondering how much of make up it might would take to cover this freaking Grand Canyon below her eyes.

   "You look beautiful."

Fred was leaning in the doorframe, watching the girl's reflection in the mirror. His lips were curled up, a dreamy look in his eyes, but Lynnea only felt like been hit by a dagger right into her heart.

"Liar", she dryly responded without turning around. She watched him smirk, and her tummy tingled, but she shook it off. She wouldn't give in, even though all of her muscles screamed at her to move, to run into his arms, to press her lips on his and drown in his scent. Her heart was begging her to wrap her arms around him, to never let him leave her again; but it was her brain that was screaming loudest of them all, and it wanted revenge, it wanted to see Fred Weasley suffering, it wanted to hurt, and warned her to not make a move, to stay cold, and so she hissed: "Would you please stop staring at me?"

"Never." His smile grew wider, before his face turned into a serious mask. "Lynnie, I - I made the biggest mistake of my life ... And I'm so sorry ..."

Lynnea bursted out laughing, even shocked herself by the sudden outburst, but she couldn't hold back. Laughing like crazy she turned around and watched Fred Weasley blushing, what was a really rare view. He seemed flustered, his eyes grew wide.

"You left me", she said in a cold voice, even being surprised herself how icy she sounded.. "You left me when I needed you most. You left me when I was destroyed by Sirius' death, when I had to deal with suddenly having a brother, and my life turned upside down. You left me, then you fucked me, just to leave me again."

   "Lynn -"

"And now you're coming up with a 'sorry, I made a mistake'?" Her laughter had turned into yells; fuming she stepped closer to Fred, burrying her finger painfully in his chest. "Are you fucking kidding me, Frederik Weasley?"

   "I was an idiot -"

"No, you were an arse!", she snapped. "You dipshit! I swear if I'd be allowed to do magic outside from Hogwarts I would totally curse your ugly ass!"

"Okay, I understand that you're angry with me ...", Fred muttered. He looked so damn cute, but not even that could save him now. Every feeling she had for Fred was crushed by another wave of the pain his words caused.

"Angry?!", Lynnea echoed, laughing hollowly. "Baby, believe me, I left the stadium of being angry long ago, just at the exact moment when you pretented to care just to let me down a second time, not to mention that it was when I was completely naked in your bedroom, after I gave you everything, Fred! And you left me with nothing!"

"I know it, Lynnea!" Now it was Fred yelling, and automatically she took a step back. The memory of what last happened as a boy yelled at her was still engraved in her mind, in her soul, and her hand flinched automatically up, covering her cheek. "Merlin, I thought I could protect you that way! I wanted you to hate me, so when they would try to trick you next time with a stupid fake letter or Merlin knows what you'd ignore it! That if some goddamn Death Eater will point his wand at me next time, you'll let me die and run for your fucking life!" Lynnea blinked at him, tears flooding her eyes, but she didn't allow them to float. "I'd never have imagined that you're going to run into the arms of someone who'll abuse you close to death!", he added, and Lynnea's face heathened up. She looked at her feet.

"I would have never let you die", she mumbled. "I told you so during summer break, you could have easily believe me. There's nothing you could do that wouldn't make me drop my wand as an exchange for your life." She took a deep breath and her eyes fixed his; those caramel brown eyes haunting her since the day she first locked with them on her first night at the Order's headquarter. "I love you, Fred. I loved you all along, and I will love you always."

He stared back, and Lynnea could read it on his face that he hadn't seen this coming; surprise was written all over his face. "I love you, too, Lynnie", he whispered, and a smile curved his lips.

But Lynnea wasn't able to smile. All she could think of now was the pain, the fear, the tears and bruises, and Blaise, those terrible things Blaise had done to her. She frowned, forcing herself to break the eye contact to Fred, instead she stared at the door behind him.

"Sad that it's to late", she muttered and watched the smile drop from his face. She pushed past him and left the room, and there were not even tears falling, she was just drowning in a uncomfortable numbness.
