wake up sleepy one,
it's time to save your world.
•••"So you and my brother, huh?" Lynnea had been looking for Hermione, and she found her together with Ginny sitting in the library. She knowingly grinned at Ginny, who's cheeks flushed a soft shade of pink.
"I think that's just fair after what you did with my brother in front of some innocent rubber ducks", Ginny retorted, smirking.
Now it was Lynnea's face turning the into color of a Gryffindor banner. "How - what? I - what?!"
"Oh c'mon, everybody knows that you had some porn-like snogging during our visit at the joke shop", Ginny laughed, throwing her hair back.
"So you and Harry are talking again?", Hermione asked.
"Of course." Lynnea nodded. "I was just shocked, I - I'm just glad he's alright." But what she kept for herself was that she was also glad that Draco was okay, even though he tried to use an Unforgivable Curse on her brother. But since then Lynnea hadn't spoken to him. It was frustrating and she kept on wondering if he would have told her what was going on with him when Harry hadn't appeared.
After a while Ginny left, and Hermione leaned over the table.
"I found out a bit of stuff about the rune", she said, her face wearing a stern look.
"Fire away", Lynnea replied, also leaning in.
"There are two known cases, but neither of them ended that well for those people", Hermione explained. "The first one woke up with a rune, Yr. He died couple of days after." Lynnea's eyes widened, and Hermione noticed the girl's shocked expression, hastily adding: "No, don't get me wrong, it's the rune for Death."
"Hermione, if you want to see me dying instantly go on like this", Lynnea muttered, rolling her eyes.
"I'll keep that in mind. So the second case seemed to be a bit more complex and actually it was the same rune as yours. Happened in Schottland about a hundred years ago, and he woke up with that rune just like you. He told that someone had cursed him, had tried to take over his body. Like a kind of possession you can say."
"What happened to him?", Lynnea asked, having some dark guesses about the answer.
"Died a week from where the scar appeared", Hermione said and threw her an excusing gaze. "But as yours was about three months ago and you're still here, I think you won't die."
"So someone cursed me?"
"Maybe."
"Am I possessed?"
"Do you feel like?", Hermione asked in a matter of fact voice.
"As I never have been possessed, I really can't tell, can I?" Lynnea rubbed her temples.
"So what will you do now?"
"Wait. Don't look at me like that, there's nothing I can do."
"You still can tell Dumbledore."
"Thanks for the reminder", Lynnea sighed. "Well, yeah, maybe I should. When he'll return from his journey, I'll ask him."
•••
"Hey Harry, where are you going?"
Lynnea sat on a bench near the courtyard. When her brother rushed by she tucked down her book and he came to a halt, slightly panting.
"There you are!", he called, coming over in huge steps. "I was looking for you. Already feared you were down in your stupid common room."
"What's up?" She tilted her head, threwing her brother a curious gaze, yet alarmed. He seemed in a hurry, nervous. "You look stressed out. What happened?"
"Nothing happened, everything's fine. I'm on my way to back to Dumbledore, just came here to tell you -" He paused, staring at his feet, and he couldn't make it any more obvious that something was wrong.
"This isn't one of his usual lessons, isn't it?" Lynnea crossed her arms in front of her chest and watched him shaking his head, but he remained silent, so she said: "C'mon Harry, just for once tell me what's going on. I know you, Ron and Hermione have your secrets, I'm not that dumb. Just this time don't leave me hanging on."
"He's taking me with him", Harry plainly said. "On one of his journeys. We have to find something and I - so, Dumbledore's with me, I guess I'll be fine, but I wanted to say goodbye just in case I won't make it back -"
"No, shut up", Lynnea cut him off furiously, getting onto her feet in a quick motion. "Don't end this sentence. You will return, Harry Potter! If you won't, I'll kick your nuts."
Harry snorted. "I guess nothing will happen, but I can't be sure", he then sighed. "But I have a ... well, a bad feeling about - see, I don't know how to explain. Lynn, promise me you won't leave your dorm tonight, okay?"
"Well, I'm supposed to sleep so I am pretty sure I won't leave it", she replied slightly confused.
"Oh, and before I forget, Dumbledore gave me this here for you", he said, putting his hand down in the pocket of his jeans and pulled out a petite silver necklace. A little vial dangled on it; there seemed to be a silverish fog floating inside it. Also Harry gave her an envelope. She opened it to find a small piece of parchment.
Lynnea,
keep this with you wherever you will go. When time is right you'll know how to use it.
"What is this?"
"He didn't tell me", Harry replied and shrugged. "Let me ..." He took the necklace and laid it around his sister's neck, closing it under her heavy auburn curls.
"Thank you", she muttered. He smiled down at her, but she couldn't return the smile, instead she swallowed hard to get rid of the big knot that had built in her throat. "Harry, promise meto come back", she whispered, flinging her arms around him to pull him close, burrying her face in his chest.
"Everything will be fine, Lynn, I promise", he replied, returning the hug as he placed a kiss on top of her hair. The so unlike twins stayed like this for a while before Harry had to leave. Lynnea's heart was drowning in sorrow while sh watched her brother crossing the courtyard and vanishing in the castle.
And now she kne what Harry had been talking about just moments ago. When she returned to the Slytherin common room she got a really bad feeling about all this.
