MONDAY SEPTEMBER 18
Two days before the hurricane's
landingIt's all over the news. Many stores already look like they have been looted by mischievous thiefs, although they just took packs of bottles of water and many canned foods.
Joseph stood still on his big couch just traumatized of the news. A big hurricane coming right through his proud island. It felt like he stood still as a rock until his father shouted:
"Joseph. JOSEPH!" Father shouted just as he packs some food into his backpack.
Joseph suddenly breaks from his rock-like form gazing at his father.
"Sorry father, just really tired". Joseph lied just thinking of an excuse.
"C'mon, you don't wanna be late for school. Maybe it'll ease your mind a bit if you can talk to your friends there".
"It's monday isn't. Ugh fine". Joseph hated monday. Start of school and getting aggravated by vast thoughts.
Though he wouldn't mind seeing Jessie, a girl he likes from his high school grade. He started to reach for his backpack, Joseph wears glasses but he doesn't use them much. Probably because he felt it made him ugly or some sort. He puts them usually at the side pockets.
"Go give your farewell kiss to your mom Joseph, and wait outside on the garage"
Joseph nodded as he grabs his backpack and seated it in a chair nearby and walked to his mother's bedroom.
He enters the dark room, only leaving the light of the air conditioner to be visible but he knew very well her mother's side of the bed.
Joseph leans down placing a gently kiss in her forehead.
"I love you mom". Joseph said as every school day he would.
"I love you too" His mom said stirring from her deep sleep.
Joseph headed to the garage just as his dad said so. Waiting on the front seat of the car. It was a KIA custom car with grey color. Just as the usual he grabs his headphones plucking it into his phone and started hearing some music as he awaits his father.
Joseph flinched from his sleep on the seat as he felt the door of the driver being opened.
"What took you so long its-" Joseph turned on the phone to see the time which made his eyes growing wide "7:00 am and we need to be at school at 7:45 am".
"Sorry Joseph. You know your sister and her surprises". His father replied as he buckle himself with belt, opening the garage by the remote.
"Yeah, her and her surprises" Joseph said rolling his eyes back to sleep with his peaceful music.
Joseph and her sister Amber had an amusing relationship, they weren't really quite fond of each other. It's been really a bad relationship between them both since they were little. Joseph always said she hated him, although her friends quite said the opposite. But now that she was beginning her first year at University , it was Joseph himself with his inner problems now alone in school, now that he was at eleventh-grade.
