Meredith's POV:
As I sat there waiting to begin, I began to nervously spin my finger around my short brown hair. Soon enough, Officer Burns sat in front of me. "Ok so let's start. First off, what's your full name?" He asked. "Meredith Cora Reed." I answered. "How old are you?" Officer Burns asked. "17." I said. "When were you born?" He asked again. "I was born on April 10, 2000." I answered. "You are one year older than your sister correct?" Officer Burns asked. "Yeah." I said. "So, when did all of this start?" He asked. "Olivia was getting ready for her talent show performance. My brother and my dad were driving there when a drunk driver hit them. My dad was killed and my brother was put on life support. My mom took him off the next day." I explained. "Do you know why she started beating Olivia?" He asked. "She went into shock and started blaming Olivia for all that happened." I said. "A few days ago she tried taking her own life right?" Officer Burns asked. I teared up at the memory from a few days ago. "Y-Yes." I stuttered out wiping the tears threatening to fall. "Who found her on the floor?" He asked. "I did. I also called 911." I answered. "How did your mom react?" The officer asked. "She didn't care. She told me to leave her there. I obviously didn't listen to her." I said. Officer Burns nodded. "Thank you for your time Meredith." The officer said. We got up. Olivia was waiting for me. She wrapped her arms around me. I smiled at her.
Olivia's POV:
"So we are going to have to follow you home and arrest your mom. We're keeping her in a cell until you get a lawyer and when the trial starts." Officer Burns said. Me and Meredith both nodded. Meredith got in the car and drove home with the officers behind us. They knocked on the door. Mom was home. "Can I help you officers?" She asked. She then noticed me and Meredith behind them. "What the hell did they do?" Mom asked. "They didn't do anything. You're under arrest for child abuse." Officer Greene said pulling out handcuffs. "YOU DID THIS DIDN'T YOU OLIVIA???!!!" Mom screamed. "It was not only her. Both of us told them what you had done." Meredith said. They dragged her to the car. I was finally at peace for a little bit.
