I heard people talking. So I opened my eyes. I saw my mom and dad talking to a nurse. I was still too tired to stay awake, so I closed my eyes and fell asleep again.
"Excuse me, Alicia. Wake up. This is Doctor Hill." I open my eyes and he smiles and asks, "Are you hungry?" I nodded. He motioned to the nurse and she pressed a button on a remote that slowly moved me up to a sitting position. He walks off and the nurse asks me, "What would you like?" I thought about foods I never had before. I spoke in a tired voice and said, "Two pancakes and milk please." She nods and walks off. I stare off at the ceiling and pictured my parents happy and hugging me when I come home, but those thoughts poofed away because the nurse came back in with my pancakes and milk.
She sets the plate down on a tray. She smiled and said, "Here is your pancakes and milk. Enjoy!" She walks to a counter and grabs a remote and hands it to me. I wait till she leaves and I change the channel to family feud.
I took a bite of the pancakes and it tasted so good I devoured it. I chugged my milk afterword. It filled me up. It's way better than bread! But at least my parents did feed me.
THE START OF THE THIRD WEEK
I have been healing really well, but this is my last week. I don't want to go back, but maybe they talked it out and decided I am what they wanted. Hopefully!
The doctor walked in and starts talking, "Your parents want you home sooner, so we are going to check you to see how much longer you will stay, they want you back Wednesday, but it depends on how you've healed. You never know if you will have to stay anymore weeks." I nod and then the testing begins.
First step is to get out of bed without a struggle. I got up pretty great.
Second is to walk around the room. I walked around the room and felt no pain.
Third I had to jog in place. I felt great!Since my parents want me back early maybe they do want me back! They do finally love me!
