Trapped in Persecution

They say the plague killed most everyone, that it couldn't be stopped or prevented, that the Dome was our only hope of saving humankind. They spent a year designing this blanket of protection, no one can leave and no one can come in. You had to pay your way in and only the rich could do that. The Dome was marvelous, inside was clear, blue sky, plants actually grew and everyone had a job. There was no sickness, there was a strong leader, protection, and housing. The Outside, as people called it, was a mess. The plague ravaged the cities and towns killing hundreds every day. The smog that covered the cities and towns was so thick you could barely see. Unemployment was crazy high. Orphanages were overflowing and schools were in pieces. Only the most athletic, the smartest, and prettiest made it into the Dome from the Outside and even then the Dome put them at the bottom of the ranking system. Only 15% lived in the Dome, the rest were left to the Outside. No one ruled, there were no police and crime rates where higher than ever. It was like everyone thought that they won't live that long so lets cross stealing a hell lot off of the bucket list.  If you wanted help catching who stole your stuff you were out of luck. The police were non-existent.
