Megan's pov
The week flew by quickly and before I knew it,it was already Friday morning.
As usual I went through my morning routine getting ready for work,I couldn't help but think about my week so far,Mr Reed has been a different version of himself all week,it was weird at first but I'm starting to get used to it,gone was grumpy,I'm too serious,and the world revolves around me Mr Reed,and I've got to admit the new Mr Reed is one hell of a sexy beast.
I took a taxi straight to work and thankfully there was no traffic,walking into the building,am faced with Eva's smile and I can't help but smile back at her,her smile is so contagious. "Morning meg,looking good this beautiful morning". "Morning Eva what's got you so excited this morning". "well as you know am originally from Nigeria and I moved here with my mum after my parents got divorced when I was 16"." Okay, what has that got to do with your excitement", I asked with confusion written all over my face, "hold your horses and let me finish,well my best friend back in Nigeria decided to move here and I'm picking her up from the airport later today" "wow that's amazing,you've been in touch all this years? " "of cause,she's the sibling I never had". "Good for you,I guess I'll see you later then we're having lunch together right? " sure thing". "See you later then".
I made my way to my office to drop my bag and go over to the coffee room,to make Mr Reed's coffee,that has been one of my daily routine since I started working here a year ago.
Walking over to Mr Reed's office I hear voices,well that's odd he never has visitors at this time of the day. Now I'm confused,I'm not sure if I should wait for this visitor to leave or I should intrude on their conversation. Without much thought,I knocked on the door,without waiting for any response,I walked into the office,I'm met with four pairs of blue eyes staring back at me,for a moment I was confused and just stood where I was, staring back without moving. " You can drop my coffee and leave Miss Mendes,I'll call you if I need something else" came Mr Reed's voice breaking me out of my trance. Walking on shaky legs,I placed his coffee on his table and turned to leave,something about the second pair of blue eyes was captivating,and I could swear there was something familiar about the lady sitting across from Mr Reed. Saying she is pretty Would be an understatement, her shiny black hair was shoulder length and perfectly styled, her make up was professionally done,she had her hands on the table and her manicured nails were perfect, she looked really beautiful. Leaving the office I walked back to my office,sitting down,I inhaled and exhaled deeply before starting the days work.
I worked for the next 3 hours arranging files,updating Mr Reed's schedule,and typing the minute from our previous meeting. After typing in the last word of the minute,I felt my stomach rumble,I was so hungry seeing as I didn't get anything to eat for breakfast,checking the time on my phone it read 12:30,no wonder am so hungry it's past noon already,grabbing my purse and slipping on my shoe,I make my way out of my office and towards the elevator,I stopped for a second thinking if I should go over to Mr Reed's office to see if he needed anything seeing as I've not heard from him all morning,remembering he said he'll call if he needed anything,I made my way onto the elevator,pressing the button for the ground floor,I wait patiently until the elevator comes to a stop,hurrying out,I make my way to Eva's desk but she meets me half way. " I'm starving,I haven't eating anything all morning" Eva announced immediately she saw me. Me too I could eat a horse.
We hurry to the cafeteria 2 blocks away,we've been eating there since I started working here a year ago, that was how I met Eva, I bumped into her when we tried to squeeze through the door out of the building at the same time in our hurry to get to lunch,we both apologized and laughed about it,I told her it was my first day on the job and I wasn't sure where to get lunch and she invited me to lunch with her and we've been friends since then.
Walking into the cafeteria,we walk straight to order our lunch. While Eva got salad,I got pizza " meg are you seriously getting pizza for lunch?", Eva asked me with amusement written all over her face, "what? I'm hungry" I reply while shrugging. After getting our food we pick a table that has an outside view,sitting I dug into my food immediately," you know your food is not running away right?" Eva says laughing. I know but I'm really hungry and this pizza is really good. After that we ate in comfortable silence,finishing my last slize of my pizza,I look up to see Eva looking at me,raising an eyebrow,"uhhh why are you looking at me like that"? Eva seems to be snapped out of her trance cause she sighs and pushes her food forward " I have a favour to ask of you and please you have to say yes" Eva says looking at me with a pleading look, uhh okay what is it? " promise you'll say yes" fine I promise. " you can't change your mind" I won't. "Fine,you know how have always suggested we get a tattoo?" "yeah,you've been talking non stop about it all year,and I keep telling you I'm too scared to get a tattoo" " yea I know but I need you to come to a tattoo parlor tonight with Jessica and I, we're getting matching tattoos and you my friend will get 1 too". Who's Jessica? " my friend from Nigeria". Knowing I already promised I'll say yes, so I had no other choice but to accept. "Fine but I'm not getting a tattoo,that shit last forever,I don't think I am ready for that yet". " okay but keep your mind open about it". "alright". I said actually meaning it. "hell I'll do it","seriously" Eva asked looking at me hopefully "yes,seriously" .
