"Yes, you have heard right. Prince Timothy and his fiance, Princess Veronica will be attending the local private school tomorrow-"
"Why are they even coming here?" Johan said lazily, turning off the TV. I turned to glare at him as he continued,"The school will be hectic."
"But, it will be cool. Us? Going to the same school as the prince? Have you even seen a royalty before?"
"You're lame," he yawned. "It's not like he's going to talk to you."
"You're just afraid that he'll steal your spotlight," I retorted as I stood up and walked to the bathroom.
Dad, who was sitting right beside Johan, shook his head, his deep Italian accent scolding, "Don't cause any trouble with their highness's, ok? I won't be able to save you two if something goes wrong."
"Yeah. Did you hear that Quinn? No messing around with the prince."
"Oh, shut up."
The first day of school was hectic. People were swarming around the main entrance, teachers shooing students inside and bodyguards waiting for their highness's.
Johan was very annoyed as soon as he saw the commotion. He slammed our car loudly and stormed off to the entrance without sparing me a glance. This confirmed that he didn't want the prince to steal his title.
He already did anyway when his sleek limo parked in front of the school. Bodyguards rushing to assist him and his fiance who looked like she was attending a grand ceremony with a red maxi dress and shiny pearls handing around her neck.
Prince Timothy was different. He wore this black oversize hoodie paired with light blue jeans and a pair of white Nike. He looked extremely comfortable walking to the front doors with his fiance slowly tagging along in her heels.
I was standing in this crowd of students inside, who had their phones up in the air, pushing to get a glimpse. Johan was next to me, accidentally squeezed in too and was kneeing everyone away.
Just when I turned back to look at the prince, he was already inside and everyone, I meant, everyone backed away instantly to make path for him with the help of his bodyguards.
I, however, was still standing frozen there. I heard Johan chuckled cheekily when the prince walked to me. His caramel eyes stared into mine for a reaction and only then I realized I was blocking his way.
One of his bodyguards was awkwardly next to me, whispering for me to back away.
All eyes were on me as I took several steps back, running into the person behind and receiving a grunt of complain.
Prince Timothy and his fiance continued on their way then, like nothing happened. Johan came to me when the crowd followed their highness's, grinning like a mad man. "Way to go. You honestly have tricks up your sleeves. How about I take the princess and you take the prince? We help each other separates them."
"Shut up, Jo. I am not in the mood," I rubbed my face in embarrassment as my brother followed me to class.
We only had a class together with the prince and princess and it was history. The two sat together side by side and with our school sticking to seat arrangement method, I was a seat behind in a row next to theirs.
All I could see was his dark hair, and gorgeous side profile. Unfortunately, Johan was next to me and would always be in every other class.
He kept teasing me about staring at the prince too much that Prince Timothy actually heard his name and turned around to glance at us. I had to hide my face in embarrassment while Johan laughed his ass off.
Lunch wasn't going to smoothly either, Johan and some girls were in front of me in our usual benches. It spared me sometimes to cool off with him busy flirting with other girls.
But Prince Timothy was the one to bug me this times. He and his fiance was three benches away, eating their lunches.
Occasionally, when I finished taking a bite of my tobacco, I would glance up and met the Prince's eyes which resulted in me glancing away awkwardly most of the time.
When we crossed path one time after the class after lunch, Johan poked me not so secretly, and the prince just looked away, ignoring the small action.
The princess, though, stared hard at us before tagging along her fiance with heels clicking every step she took.
"Johan," I started, my mouth dry from not speaking for a long time. "You're betting my life."
"What?" He said innocently.
"Stop poking and teasing me about the prince. He's engaged, you dumb ass. Haven't you seen the look she gave us? I don't want to be murdered tonight."
Johan just shook his head and hummed a song to himself, not taking me seriously at all.
Later when we finished school, Johan was just starting the car. I stood next to the door as a hand clammed down on my shoulder.
I found the prince and the princess behind. My mind froze but then the prince waved a book at me. It was my a Harry Potter book that I kept in my locker.
"It was hanging in a plastic bag on my locker's handle," the prince said calmly, his caramel eyes searched for an answer. "Are you Quinn Bruno? There's name written inside," He flipped the cover and pointed to a name on the next page.
I quickly nodded, dazed and stunned. "But--but, how did it get there?"
He looked at me funnily then shook his head, "I should be the one to ask you that. Better not hang your book again."
Just like that he walked off with his fiance, leaving me gaping after them and staring at the book Prince Timothy shoved at me.
