"I will not promise anything because I cannot predetermine our lives. But if I am in love with you as much as I think I am, then I will stay by your side as much as you allow me to."

*SLAM*

I hurriedly close my laptop right as my grandma opens my door. As if without even needing to think, she walks over to me and gently takes my laptop. Once she leaves, I roll over and sigh. So much for staying up late to watch the rest of my Korean drama. How does she always know when I am awake? >.<

I peek over at my clock and see that it's half past 2 o'clock in the morning. I decide that it would be best to sleep so I can wake up early to pack for my first vacation abroad. I reluctantly get out of bed to shut my door, just to feel extra safe. Then I crawl back in bed, snuggle up and fall asleep to thoughts about my trip.

*RIIING RRRING RINGGGG RING*

I peek open my eyes and automatically smack my alarm clock to turn it off. I pull myself out of bed to go wash my face and brush my teeth so I can pack all my belongings. I look over and see that my grandma has already gone to the store to get me things for my trip tomorrow morning.

I then walk to the kitchen to make everyone breakfast. I decide to keep it simple and healthy by making toast and spreading peanut butter all over it for protein, along with a variety of fruit for flavor. I set out plates and silverware for 4 people since my sister will be visiting today to send me off well.

My family consists of my grandma, grandpa, and my older sister. My sister Alina is like a best friend to me, even though she's moved out and 3 years older than me. Whenever something goes wrong, she's always the first person I call. I wouldn't want to burden my grandparents after all. They already had to suffer from my parents passing away due to a horrible car accident when I was a young child staying at my babysitter's.

I snap back to reality when I hear the front garage door opening. The door opens to both my grandparents and my sister all happily smiling at me. I greet them and eat one of the happiest breakfasts I've had as I enjoy my last day with them.

*TIME SKIP- Nighttime*

I finally finished packing and am left exhausted. My 1 month trip to South Korea is well worth it though. I've been waiting for this day since I graduated college. I think back to how I discovered Korean culture through books I read and articles off the internet. The hardest part was trying to decide where I wanted to visit, since I wanted to save as much money as I could.

Luckily for me, through the internet I was able to meet a young lady named Yeona who said I could stay with her for a little bit. Now all that was left was to somehow sleep for about 4 hours, drive to the local airport, and meet Yeona on the other side at the Incheon airport all by myself.

To cool myself off I decided to jump into the shower and collect my thoughts on how I would introduce myself to Yeona and her family. In college I at least made sure to study Korean to be better prepared, although I haven't used in much here in the states yet.

With my mind now at more ease, I slip away into sleep...

*MORNING*

I wake up to my phone ringing quite loudly. I lazily reach over to answer whoever has called me so late at night. I answer it and hear my sister at the other end talking quite quickly and loud.

Y/N: "Alina, please slow down, do you have any idea what time it is?" I say. "Y/N you're the one who must not know what time it is, why haven't you left yet?" She says. I slowly begin to look at the clock "wait, what are you talking abou- OH MY GOSH MY FLIGHT LEAVES IN 40 MINUTES!" I can hear Alina through the phone praying that I even make it back alive.

I quickly thank her and hang up the phone, now scrambling to grab everything possible as I run out the door leaving a little note to my grandparents on the table. I run out to my car where my sister is waiting, and tell her to prepare for some major speeding. The drive somehow takes around 33 minutes <.> (normally takes 40 minutes)
