I jump backwards so far I collide with Hoseok and we both smack into the ground. But I don't really notice because an animal is drawing nearer, which came out of one of the surrounding greens. It continues to come closer as Hoseok and I death grip each other. I squint my eyes and "OMG IT'S A FLIPPING BEAR-", I am instantly silenced as Hoseok smacks his hand over my mouth. He leans closer and whispers in my ear, "if we want to find Yeona and Jimin, we're going to have to somehow distract it."
I nod to show my understanding and search my surroundings as I try to find a stick or something. I grab something heavy and throw it as far as I can behind the bear. We watch as the bear rears up on it's hind legs and starts to turn- as a loud yell is heard somewhere near us. "HEY Y/N AND HOSEOK WHERE DID YOU GUYS GO?"
The bear whips around and comes straight at us. I pull up Hoseok and we make a run for it towards Jimin's voice who stupidly yelled for us. I frantically call out "Jimin, you pabo, help us we're being chased by a bear!" I hear rustling as Yeona comes out somewhere beside us and attempts to pull us with her, but she slips and we go tumbling down the hill. The adrenaline kicks into my body and I start grasping for any footing or nearby branches.
At last I feel my hand hit a thick branch and I grab it like my life depends on it... oh wait, it does. I look up slightly to my right and see that Yeona has also successfully caught both a tree branch and a Hoseok. I try to look down to see how much further we have to drop, but it's so dark outside that I can't tell. I ask Yeona, "can you guys see anything over there? Should we climb or?" I hear some rustling and then silence.
"Yeona? Are you okay?" I try to focus my eyes until I feel something grab my foot and thrust me downwards. "AHHHHHhhhhhhhhhhhh!... Huh? Why haven't I hit the ground? Suddenly I realize there are four arms around me. "Jimin? Hoseok?" I try to smell them because well it's dark and I can't see. "Yah! What are you doing Y/N?" Well that person is definitely Jimin. "Thanks for catching me you guys. Now can you put me down please?"
I hear Hoseok chuckle and say, "I'm glad you're okay Y/N." They both let me down and I almost stumble over from the sudden loss of adrenaline. "Woah there Y/N, maybe we should go find a place to sleep, since it's definitely not safe out here." I hear Hoseok say. I hear someone further away speak, "hey guys, I think there's like a cave or something over here...should we take our chances?"
I look in the direction of the voice and say, "uhh what if it's the bear's cave?" Suddenly the voice I hear is really far away and echoes. "Nah, this cave is way too big to be only for the bear." Hoseok grabs my hand and says, "wow, that really makes me feel better.." Hoseok and I start walking towards the cave when Jimin pulls us back. "Hey, do you guys wanna play a game?" I look at Hoseok and give him a is he serious? look. "Okay so, whoever gets the furthest in the cave can sleep next to Y/N."
"Wait, what?" I look at Jimin as if he just slapped me across the face. "How did you just decide that I would be willing to sleep next to anyone? What happened to my consent?" Hoseok lets go of my hand and looks at me a little sadly, "so you don't want me to do it Y/N? You want to be with Jimin?" I grab his hand back and say, "WHAT?, Uh-h no, that's not what I meant at all."
We both get startled by the sound of Jimin racing to the cave. Hoseok kisses my hand before he lets it go to chase after Jimin. I'm just left to stand there and watch their backs disappear into the cave. "Oh Y/N, what did you get yourself into?" I start to run after them into the..very...dark cave.
"Hello? Where did you guys go-?" I'm silenced yet once again as a small hand gets placed over my mouth. "Y/N, don't speak, just watch the show.. this should be entertaining." I hear Yeona whisper. "Whawt doe ya meen?" I say through her hand. She says nothing in reply as I hear Hoseok yelling at anything that makes a sound every now and then. But that's not all.... Jimin is also beside Hoseok squaring up to fight random rocks he bumps into.
After this has quite hilariously gone on for a solid 5 minutes Yeona releases me and says, "what would you boys ever do without me?" She pulls out a flashlight from seemingly nowhere. "You had that this entire time?" We all say in unison. "Yup" is all she says as we follow her lead.
We follow her for what feels like forever before she sees something glistening in front of us. She grabs Jimin and pushes him forward. "Could you be a dear and test the water?" Jimin gives her the most you owe me look ever and leans down to cup the water. I can only watch in shock as Yeona shoves him into the water full-on (I make it a note to never mess with Yeona). Jimin bursts through the water and says "YAH! COME here yOu LITTLE JErk!"
He runs after Yeona as she throws the flashlight to me, giving me a funny smile. Jimin lifts her entire body off the ground and throws himself and her into the water together. I begin laughing at their shenanigans until I suddenly feel my view getting wider. I feel familiar arms lifting me up and it's not long before Hoseok and I are also in the water together.
We swim and play for what seems like endless hours...I never want this moment to end, all four of us here together, having no worries, regardless of the fact that we are lost. As long as we have each other, we will always be at home within our hearts. I have never felt this way before towards people I just met..but then again..I've never been stranded in a cave. I look at all the people here with me, memorizing all their smiles and reflecting it on my own face.
As we swim I notice there seems to be a hole in the ceiling of the cave. I can see and hear water running through it, and I can see the full moon reflecting off the water. This place was beautiful beyond words. This moment I would never forget, not for a million years.
Exhaustion ends up hitting us all like a bus, and we decide to build a fire for warmth so we can sleep. Yeona and I go to retrieve firewood while Jimin and Hoseok hang up some clothes on rocks to dry out a little before we retire for the night. We come back in a couple minutes with stacks of dried pine needles, leaves, and wood. Jimin and Hoseok make a sort of hut with the wood.
Yeona takes the flashlight and pulls out an AA battery. She also asks Jimin to get her a piece of gum from her little bag. I look at her and say, "what are we going to do? We don't have any matches." Without even looking at me she says, "why would I need matches?" I give her a confused look as I watch her unwrap the gum and feel for the flat side of the battery (the negative side). She places the flat side on the piece of gum wrapper. She then slightly tears the sides of the middle and touches the long end of the wrapper to the top of the battery. She gets a piece of pine cone and holds it there with it.
Amazingly enough the pine cone starts to catch on fire! She then throws the pine cone into the pit as we all stare at her in admiration. "How did you know how to do that?" I ask her. She replies with "well I've read my fair share of books and gum wrappers are supposedly metallic, so the reaction with the battery makes it burn. "Wow Yeona, I didn't even know that" Jimin says as he nods his head in approval.
For bedding we use an abandoned tarp we found near the outside of the cave. We cut it up using the sharp side of Hoseok's house key (this took a while) and pass out on the four pieces we made. I go to sleep looking over at all the new close friends I made today, thankful for how we all found each other. I drift off while staring over at Hoseok's form to try and see if he is s.le..eping..zzz

Woah, I got really excited there. I just typed so much without even focusing on how much I was typing. Haha I hope it was well worth it for the readers though~
