"Happy birthday!" Samantha cheers. It's
like yesterday didn't even happen, and now
she was back to her usual self. She looked
around before placing a cupcake in my
hand. "Eat up now, wouldn't want the
doctor to see."
The cupcake brought back memories of all
my past birthdays with my family. The
family that abandoned me in this place. I
finished the cupcake and Samantha
cleaned me up.
"How does it feel to be sixteen?" She asks
curiously. I shrug. "Nothing different?"
"No, nothing different." I reply and a
sudden question pops into my head. "How
old are you?"
"Me?" She questions surprised. "Well, I'm
seventeen." I nod my head and lay back.
She's so nice and not that much older than
me, but we are not the same. She doesn't
have the darkness after her.
