Tom the pipers son

I walked for days. My legs costantly giving way and causing me to climb back up. I grew tired and my eyes began to flutter shut my arms tired from carrying my bag. Suddenly, I dropped to the floor and It all went black.

When I awoke, it was dark. The moon shone radiantly in the diamond-scattered sky. Suddenly, I heard something no, someone. I got up and my ears suddenly heard the most beautiful sound.

I could hear him; he was singing.

🎵 "Tom he was a pipers son. He learnt to play when he was young. The only tune that he could play, was over the hills and far away. Over the hills and a great way off. The wind shall blow my top-knot off." 🎵

I could feel myself walking toward him; I was almost hypnotized. Closer and closer until. I bumped into him.

"Ow! Good grief missy! Yee could've ad' me ed off!"
I immediately broke from my trance to apologize to the stranger. "Iam so sorry! I didn't realize that I was moving!" I then thought "well done percy..he's gonna think your off your nut.."

"Na..is Okay. I've ad moments just like that." He got up and looked at me with a smile. "I be Jason! But ye can call me joker!" He said with a smile. I smiled back and said, "Well 'joker', my name is Persaphone, but you can call me Percy."

We both went silent for a few moments. "Um.." I said, attempting start a conversation.
"Yes? What is it?"
"Y-you have a beautiful voice.."
He blushed and looked back at me. "So ya heard.."
"Yep" I said.

He sighed and continued to speak "Well, that song was important to me and me friends when we were kids"
We walked for a while before I looked up at him curiously. "How come?"

He stopped. "We were orphans with no-where to go. So in the streets is were we lived. So everynight, i'd sing that song ta help em get ta sleep." He froze. "But that no longer matters now."

He seemed to care very deeply about his friends and my mind flickered to the book I was reading only hours before I had passed out and met this mysterious stranger.

"So what be ya reason for followin me?"
"I need somewhere to stay."
He thought for a few minutes before looking over to me with curious eyes which immediately seemed interested in question.

"Can ya do the tightrope?"
"Yep."
"Knifethrowin?"
"Yep."
"Lion tamer?"
"Yep."
"Juggler?"
"Yep."
"Trapeze artist?"
"Yep."

He froze. "Ya can do all of those!?"
"Yep." He seemed to be very impressed. And grabbed me by the shoulders. "You can do all of those things."
"Yep." He seemed convinced. "I'm gonna have ta give ye an audition. If that's alright with ye." I nodded.

I didn't know what most of those things that he mentioned but a strange part of me seemed to know exactly what they were and how to do them.
My stomach growled and I immediately dropped to the floor.

"Oh my! Are ye' alright?!"
I paused for a while, recovering for my sudden fall.

"..C-Can I please have something to eat?"

He smiled.
