I trembled as dagger and joker lead me into the main tent, the performers staring at me as if I was some sort of wild animal.
"Right this way miss." Dagger said calmly, completely abandoning his cheerful, chirpy nature. He lead me to the centre of the tent as joker aproached me. "Now then me' lady. What be ye' prefered form of circus art?"
I thought for a while before, a thought sprung to my mind like a free spring. "I'll try tight-rope, then trapeze, then I'll have a go at knife throwing."
"Very well then. DOLL! WE NEED YE'!" Jason shouted to a white haired girl balancing on the tight-rope. She climbed down with extreme grace and made her way over to joker.
"What is it?" She said quietly, her frilly white dress floating around her waist. "We need ye' ta' take Percy here up to the tight-rope."
He said, scruffling my long brown hair with his skeletal hand. "Sure." She nodded and gestured me to follow her."So..what's your name?" I said, walking next to her. She looked over at me shyly, her one blue eye glistening in the light given off by the candles. "Doll...but I suppose my real name is violet.." she said quietly, looking over me.
She gave off the strong silent type vibe and it was hard not to notice how she would look back at dagger and joker every once in a while.
She lead me up the ladder to the tight-rope, each step I took was like a wave of suspense, beckoning me to climb higher. When we got to the top, doll secured me, ensuring that I would be able to survive this chapter of the auditon.
"Good luck." She said to me, stepping back to give me some space to begin. I took one step onto the tight-rope and breathed in deeply.
As I took the second step, excitement surged though me and, without meaning to, front-flipped the next few stepped. I landed on one foot and stretched my leg outwards and did a ballet twirl in the center of the rope. I ran forwards for the next to steps, span round and back-flipped my way to the other Side of the tight rope. I bowed and made my way down the from the other purple pillar holding the rope in position.
"That is what I want to see!" Joker shouted, congratulating me;
Yet despite the praise I was reviving, I felt uneasy as I noticed another member of the circus was watching, almost recording my every move in his (or her) brain from behind the curtain of the brightly-colored tent.
I tried to look away but this strange person,
Had me trapped.
To be continued in the next chapter.
