GATE: Bullet And Magic

Special Region

Hey guys, so I'm back with part 2 of GATE series. I still not quiet sure who should I pair the reader with, so if you have some suggestion please leave it at comment section. Enjoy ^_^

It's been three months since the attack on Ginza and lots of things have transpired during those time. A new prime minister was elected to replace the previous one, Itami been promote to First Lieutenant and was award the title of The Hero of Ginza for his quick thinking during the attack. Lots of funerals were held to mourn those who lost their life during the Ginza incident and public start to demand the government to close the Gate but they couldn't do that, what if they close the Gate and another one appears on different location.

Currently you, Itami and the rest of first Division are in a ceremony that being held to send all of you to Special Region. From the corner of your eyes you spot the little girl that with Itami three months ago. Wearing what you could tell was a funeral dress, you know the poor girl just loss her mother, Itami must have notice the girl as he visibly grit his teeth in anger. After a long speech from the higher ups, you board the APC along your brother and friends, it's good to see some recognisable face going there with you.

"Hey (Y/N), you think there be any cat girl over there?" One of your friends, Kurata asks you. Knowing he try to light up the mood, you just go with it

"Probably, there might be bunny girl and blond elf" You said checking your AWP sniper rifle

Once the barrier that close the GATE door open, tank start to move in follow by APC and armour car. Inside one of the car are Lieutenant General Hazama and First Lieutenant Yanagida. The latter tell Hazama that the tanks are moving in follow by the APC, Hazama tell him if they have to fight once they reach the Special Region, they have to use what they have knowing the enemies would wait for them on the other side.

Truth to Hazama words, the enemies are waiting for them with a good distance. Soldiers start to exit the APC and getting in position while the tanks point their cannon toward the enemies while loader inserting a new shell. Once the sun starts to rise from behind the mountains, it soon follows by the sounds of thunders and explosion. The army of Special Region stood there as they been shoots or explode into pieces, the commander start to watch his army been massacre by a powerful magic that he or his men wasn't ready for. All they could hear was the sound of thunders even though there wasn't any storm, follow by bright lines that pierce his men armour and shields. He would ask what kind of enemy they were facing if not for a bright line that went between his eyes.

You just claim your fifteen kills by killing what you could tell was the enemy commander, based on his armour then the usual one that being wears by his men. The once living general now dead with a hole between his eyes thanks to your accurate shot. Pulling the breech open and closing it, you shot another soldier via headshot.

"You sure love putting hole between men eyes" Itami said jokingly as he reload his Type-64

"I just making their death less painful" you said before ducking down to face your brother "Seriously, how many are they?"

Itami just shrug his shoulder and continue shooting the enemies, you sigh and take a short moment to view your surroundings. Men and women keep firing their weapons while a thunderous sound were heard from tanks cannons. The enemy dragon rider try to attack from above but was shoots down by AA guns, one of the tank crew just open his hatch and decide to use the 50 cals to shoots the dragon.

"What you got bitches, what you got?!" the tank crew yells, he must be a big fan of The A Team to do that

You sigh once again knowing this will be a long and tiring day for this couple of days, and with that you take aim and continue creating hole between the enemy eyes as Itami always said.

--Couple of days later--

Itami just receive a new order, he was supposed to lead a squad of 12 soldiers with a call sign Recon Team 3. The objective of the squad was to investigate the Special Region and try to create a friendly relationship with the civilians. As he inspects his new squad he can see couple of recognisable face as well as the new one. The one Itami knows was Sargent Kurata a friendly and follow otaku as him, Sargent Major Kuwahara a former drill Sargent and also known as 'pops' by most of the soldier. As he look around he try to find his younger brother but he know you won't be in his team, it's not you guys first time being in different team.

"So are we ready?" Itami ask his squad

"Not yet, we still have one more soldier joining us" Kuwahara said

"Oh? And who was this soldier?" Itami ask back, the latter was about to answer him but was cut off by someone else

"Sorry I'm lieutenant" A voice said from behind Itami

"No is fine, but next time plea-!!!" Itami turn to face the soldier behind him but was shock to see who.

There stand behind Itami was no other than his brother, you are wearing your usual SDF uniform with AWP sniper rifle slung on your back but what caught Itami attention was the tiredness in your eyes

"Hey (Y/N), are you . . . okay?" Itami ask, a tone of concern in his voice

"Yeah I'm *yawn* fine, just coming back from last night mission"

"Oh yeah I remember, you have to stay on the frontline since the enemy decide to attack during night correct?"

"Yeah, they won't let me sleep since they want everyone ready if the enemy decide to fight back" You tell him fighting the urge to pass out

"But aren't you in Lieutenant Yanagida squad?"

"Yeah I was, I ask Hazama to transfer me into your squad since you going to need someone watching your ass" You tell him

"You just want to sleep don't you?" Itami ask as he raise his fist at you

"You know me to well Itami" You said and fist bump him before climbing into the jeep

The ride was peace full and enjoyable, well for both Itami and Kurata. They been talking about anime and manga, they also start to sing the opening without knowing the radio was turn on. The others heard weirdly at the radio as their commander sing an anime opening, some try holding their laughs while the other just ignored it but for Sargent Kuribayashi, she just sigh dramatically and ask what's wrong with Itami. Having zero knowledge to who Itami was and his affiliation.
