Chapter 8: World Fall Apart

I’m still planning when, where and how would I take the revenge I want for my dearest friend, Lucy. I know, Dace is my crush but that wouldn’t stop me from doing a thing to wake him up from doing such immoral thing to my best bud. This will be so hard for me but I just don’t want to stay, sit and watch Lucy being fooled by Dace all the time. That Bastard! He will go directly to hell!

Lucy and I, we’re walking here in the mall. She said she want to buy something for Dace. Dace again?! I can’t just be mad to her by doing this because she knows nothing about what’s the real thing situation. Each time I saw Lucy smile because of Dace, I can’t stand not clenching my teeth and fists. I’m so sick on waiting for the right time to do the bloody work. I don’t want Lucy to hope any longer for nothing.

I just keep on walking with Lucy buying. In a while, Lucy feel dizzy, “Hey Dude, You okay?” I touched her back trying to rub it to check on her, “Yes. I am okay. Dizziness can’t take a strong girl like me fall to the ground…” she chuckles and waved her hands to my shoulder “righ?” She became so dizzy and her eyelids covers her eyes slowly that made her fell to the ground. I’m on shock, panicking, as well as the people around the store. “CALL AN AMBULANCE PLEASEEEEEE!” I begged for the people there to call for ambulance as I shook Lucy trying to wake her up. “Crap! Have anyone care to call the ambulance?!” I shouted. Few minutes later, a medical team came and carried Lucy.  They carried her up to the Ambulance and I was so panicked.

In the hospital.

I sat, stood up and walked because of I’m panicking. Later on, Lucy’s mom and dad arrived, rushing in, so worried about their daughter, the only daughter.

“Where’s Lucy? What happened?!” Aunt Kath asked me shaking my shoulder, worried sick. “We gone shopping and she felt dizzy but she said she was okay when I consulted her and it didn’t took long then she fell on the ground like” I cried and cried as I remember what just happened on the store “I don’t know why she was dizzy but I’m freakin’ panicking right now asking why?! Why Mrs. Highmore why?” I cried because I don’t understand why.

“Who’s with Ms. Highmore?” The doctor cut out our conversation. As we heard the Doctor, we immediately stopped and Mr. Highmore rose with a serious and worried face “Doc, what happened to our daughter?” Mrs. Highmore stepped forward and grabbed Mr. Highmore’s arm. They both worried and so do I. I can’t even stay on one spot.

“She got Lung Cancer.” The doctor said those words slowly like whispering in the wind and nodded. “I’m sorry.” The doctor left. I was stuck to where I was standing and my feet became weaker and I fell down to where I was standing feeling the pain. I wasn’t able to check on Mr. and Mrs. Highmore but I’m sure they were always worried, deadly worried. I heard both of them Sob, cried out loud. My eyes can’t even control my tears knowing that my friend has been suffering a lung cancer yet I haven’t know, I didn’t even noticed! I took down with my knees and folded my body like I wanted to explode. My mom has a leukemia, my dad was trying to rape me, my brother has no care for us and now, Lucy, has a lung cancer. This is too heavy to take.

“Skye, go home it’s late.” Mr. Highmore calmly tapped my back. “No Sir, I won’t, not until my best friend open her eyes again.” I nodded and cried. It’s been hours that Lucy slept, I sat on the chair next to her bed. Praying that God will heal her, asking God to bring the strong Lucy back. I didn’t notice, I slept.

I felt somebody was combing my hair using her hand. As I woke up, I found out that it was Lucy’s. I immediately, stood up and asked her about anything, whatever she likes. “Relax Dude, I’m fine.” She’s trying to calm me down using her perfect smile. And by that, surely it made me calm.

“Why didn’t you tell me huh?!” I drew a crossed eyebrows and a sticky look to her. “I wasn’t sure. I wasn’t sure if it’s really inside me.” She waved her face from me to the window on her left. “Where’s mom and dad?” she asked. “They went home, they said they will get you something to eat, fruits perhaps.” I held her hand. “They were worried dead Luc, We’re all worried.”

“Where’s Dace? Does he know about this?” She faced me and asked me seriously. Oh c’mon! Dace again? Hearing his name made me sick and made me crave for kicking his damn ass as early as possible. “I think not.” I looked away. Lucy grabbed her blackberry phone and start texting. I knew it’s Dace whom she’s texting *sighed*.

“Any reply from Dace?” I asked her raising my left eyebrow. “Nope, probably his busy.” She sighed and wondered. “If he really love you, no matter how busy he is, he will live it and be here because he cares for you.” I replied. I intentionally said those words for her to open her mind. She chose to keep quiet and I didn’t mind. My fists are so craving to do some punching. Another minutes past, still Lucy kept on looking back and forth to her phone trying to check if Dace has a reply but it made her frown even more knowing that even a blank page of message from him haven’t received.

*Today, I'm so down. My aunt didn't give me money for my tuition fee even she knows that my exam will be this monday. I can't take the exam without a permit and I can't have a permit without paying. Gosh! What to do? Help me oh God. ;(
