"So, Miss Forbes, tell me something about you." Elijah said as we walked around the house. I took a sip of the drink I was holding and looked around my surroundings actually admiring the architecture.
"Well, Mr. Mikaelson, what would you like to know?" I questioned. I saw him smirk from the corner of my eye.
"Well, for starters, why don't you tell me how you met Niklaus and Rebekah." he said keeping his head forward but stealing glances at me from the corner of his eye.
"I would of guessed Klaus or Bekah would of told you that story." I said smiling a little at the memory. Elijah just raised his eyebrows and I sighed. "That's right, whenever Klaus saw you he daggered you. I'm sorry about that by the way. If I would of known I would have stopped him." I said truthfully.
"That's fine dear. Thank you for being sincere though." he said smiling at me. I nodded and smiled back.
"Well, in the 1200's I was dying from a disease that infected my town. You're brother saved my life my by turning me. So ever since then I did whatever he asked me to do. I stood beside him and your sister ever since. But one time in the 20's they both ended up leaving me stuck in Chicago. I'm not complaining though, that's where I met Stefan and Lexi." I explained. I frowned as I remembered Lexi is dead. The death of one of my best friends killed me on the inside almost. I wasn't exactly myself when I found out. Which is part of the reason I came to Mystic Falls, to make sure Stefan was okay.
"I'm guessing he compelled you to forget you met them." Elijah said in a matter of fact tone, like he knew exactly what Klaus did.
"That's exactly what he did. He did the same thing to Stefan too." I explained taking another drink from the wine in my hand. "I'm not really mad at him though. He told me about your father." I explained.
"Awh, yes. My father always hated what we have become." Elijah explained. "He especially hated Niklaus. Ever since he found out that my mother had an affair with a werewolf he treated Niklaus like he was a stranger often." Elijah explained. I looked at him in awe at the story he just told. "Once he found out what Niklaus was, he told my mother he wanted them to become something else so the wolf side of him would stay dormant." Elijah said as we walked outside.
"I never knew any of that." I said looking at the ground. I opened my mouth the say something else but were interrupted by a very stressed looking Elena Gilbert. "I'll leave you two to talk. It was a pleasure talking to you Elijah." I said turning to look at him. I held out my hand for him which he gently took and placed a kiss on top of it.
"The pleasure was all mine Miss Forbes." he said smiling at me. I then turned to Elena and gave her a warm smile.
"Great to see you again Elena. You look stunning." I said smiling. She smiled at me and nodded.
"So do you Bailey. Great seeing you again." she said smiling at me. I nodded at the both of them and headed off towards the ball room. I stood by the foyer with a drink in my hand watching everyone dance.
"Where were you little Miss Forbes?" I heard a husky voice call from beside me. I turned my head to face a very handsome looking Salvatore.
"Well Damon if you must know, I was with Elijah." I said turning my head back towards the dancing bodies. I went to take a drink when my drink was taken from me and somebody was pulling me along with them. I looked at Damon who had taken a hold of my hand and was leading me to the middle of the dance floor. "Damon." I groaned but reluctantly going with him.
"I want to dance. We never danced before." he said stopping in the middle of the floor and pulling me to him to dance.
"We have danced before. Don't you remember?" I questioned with a smirk taking Damon's hand and dancing with him.
"Yes,  but we have never danced like this." he reminded me with a smirk.
"Well the other way was so much more fun." I said grinning.
"I won't argue there but I like dancing like this every once and a while. I'm not a complete ass you know." he said giving his signature smirk.
"That can be debatable." I said smiling at him. He just shrugged and we continued to dance. We danced to multiple songs. By the time we heard someone calling from the other room Damon and I were the last ones on the dance floor. Damon led me into the other room by having a hold on the small of my back. We stopped beside Elena who was standing beside Elijah.
"I would like to propose a toast. To my family being reunited." Ester called from the top of the stairs. We all raised our classes and took a drink of our drinks. I looked over at Elena who looked a little guilty but I didn't think anything of it. But maybe, I should have.
